NESN: Larry Fitzgerald could be available via trade

Is there any actual meaning in these two paragraphs?

Ha ha Ray. Let me clarify.

For the right price, any player could be available in a trade, according to league sources, but that doesn't mean the any teams are actively trying to unload any.

In fact, no one polled for this story had any direct knowledge of whether the teams have had any legitimate discussions about trading their star players, so take that for what it's worth.

i think we have plenty of picks for that plan AND Fitz

I don't ... A DE/DL .... OT .... and CB all need to be selected in the 1st 2 rounds and we need all 3 of those for sure .. picking a top guard or center would not hurt either to round out 4 in the first 2 rounds.

Why do we need a CB in the 1st 2 rounds?

Pats do have serious front 7 deficiencies, but the game against the Jets also revealed some other problems. Brady is strictly a pocket passer, and if our WR's can't get open, we're in trouble. The draft is a crapshoot, if we can get Fitz for our 1st (28) then I say we do it.

Ah!..... An intelligent post!
Very good!

You are correct. Roster spots are limited. If we can add three to six new bodies to play at a high level in 2011, that will be a lot. We have ten picks or so pending compensatory picks.
Trade a few picks to get some NFL ready players. Why not Fitz!

That's what i thought, thank you. A league source (someone who works for the league, maybe the guy that makes the lines on the field) said, every man has his price (he was reading up on Ray Nitschke, and found a quote by philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche by mistake)*.

Our intrepid reporter heard this, realized Fitzgerald and the Arizona GM were indeed men, and therefore had a price!

The complete quote below...

*
"Every man has his price." This is not true. But for every man there exists a bait which he cannot resist swallowing. To win over certain people to something, it is only necessary to give it a gloss of love of humanity, nobility, gentleness, self-sacrifice - and there is nothing you cannot get them to swallow. To their souls, these are the icing, the tidbit; other kinds of souls have others.
Friedrich Nietzsche
German philosopher (1844 - 1900)

Rebuilding the line and getting 1 big back is what this team needs on offense. We could get the next Jerry rice but if Tom is on his back most of the game what good is it.

I love our smurfs but if they can't get open TB is on his back anyway even if every O Line guy was an all Pro. Neither Branch or Welker got open. Is that now the "blueprint" (hate that term) on the Pats "O" in 2011? Gronk was the best option but our outside pass game went to hell. Most of the Jets sacks were coverage...agreed?

Give me Fitz for that game and see what the outcome is. I know it seemed worse but we only lost by a TD. There was no need to double cover Tate. Rex can cover him.

Fitz seems like a perfect fit for the Pats, guy has extreme talent along with a great attitude on and off the field, I know its highly unlikely Pats trade for him, but it would be awesome.

just to clarify...what team wouldnt fitz be a perfect fit for?

Larry Fitz would be an excellent fit for the Pats.

A dream come true if we could get him.

Last time we fetched a Hall of Fame caliber WR in his prime we went 18-0 with a miracle play impending us to be 19-0. Our defense then was better, but I'm pretty sure our defense next year will be better with a year of experience behind them. I say if we can fetch him let's go for it.

Randy Moss is the only reason we went 18-0. **** yeah!

So lets take a poll on how many here who are saying not to get him, will be the ones SWEARING they always wanted him if it happens?

I say bring him in, he is a one of a kind talent.

You dont need a good D when you score 70 ppg

and by the way, I think we have a good D.

I would give a 1st and 2nd for Fitz, no problem, we'd still be loaded with picks and we'd give the best QB were ever likely to have an elite receiver for his last 4-5 years

Either that or trade up for AJ Green/Julio Jones

I'd kill someone if this happens. I'v been wanting this guy for awhile now. Won't even go into how good of an athelete he is but just his attitude and work ethic. Him and brady would click immediately.

His always cool and calm, never mouths off and just has that "patriot" way about him. Man i pray we get this guy.

I can give you upwards of $10M reasons not to before we even discuss the fact that he can't rush the passer and neither can anyone else on this roster at the present and even if he could YOU CAN'T TRADE DRAFT PICKS FOR PLAYERS ABSENT A NEW CBA. The cap is coming back DW, and unless you're willing to roll the dice and not extend a Mankins or not be in position to extend a Mayo and a McCourty among other existing pieces in the next 2-3 seasons or persue other actual FA who may become available in droves shortly this team will be sorely limited in Brady's last several seasons unless they largely draft and develop their own affordable core talent.
