"Were we watching the same game??"
Everyone in the world could see that Mark Sanchez was crumbing under the pressure in the 4th quarter. He overthrew BADLY on 3 consecutive throws...tried to throw a 90 mph fastball to a guy 6 yards away on another and on the last play that went for 18 yards....good God, that was a terrible throw that they were lucky to have completed. It was a softer-throw (coaching suggestion that Sanchez "stop trying to throw it 100 mph?) that required a 6'4' receiver to jump 4 feet off the ground against a CB that was on the practice squad until a few weeks ago?
Seriously. Mark Sanchez was awful down the stretch. The Colts were even worse.
Brad Smith was injured earlier in the game so I wonder what his status will be Sunday as the Jets primary kick returner. If he is returning kicks against us, I am a little concerned with how fast he gets up to full speed.
Affirmative!Was Sanchez that bad saturday?
Was Sanchez that bad saturday? I ask because I had to work and when I went on a break, I went on NFL.com and "watched" the last minute of the game on the play by play screen (riveting, I know!). Seems like if not for the Holmes kick return, the Jets would of been backed up closer to there own 20.
The only reason this game concerns me is because the thought of losing to the Jets in the playoffs is so heartwrenching, even a small chance of it happening is enough to keep me up.
From a football perspective, I see no reason the Patriots shouldn't win this game.
Man, PFT is a joke. They think the Pats won by a lot in hopes that it would somehow result in them losing the next 4 games and missing the playoffs. Uh, what?
And he makes it sound like that strategy backfired now. Like we just tried to kill a lion in its sleep, only to wound it and have it wake up angry.
A lion? hmm...how about a hippo?
PS: no way I am diminishing the rage and potency of a hippo btw.
I have no doubt that the Jets will use the blow-out as motivation. Rex should go dig up the gameball he burieð and mount it in the middle of the locker room. However, it won't be enough.
Rex can resurrect the Titanic from the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean, for all I care, because the Patriots will score at least 31 points as has been the case the last eight games.
