Patriots' Vince Wilfork talks about his weight, Tom Brady - Dan Patrick.com

"You're not 325"
"I'm every bit of it"

This is a funny and great interview. Talks about the Cleveland game being a turnaround point. He and Welker call Brady "Zoolander". I had no idea that he gets fined every game for not being able to tuck his jersey in. I'd be willing to bet that fine is gladly paid by the franchise. I love the strategies he's worked on with the equipment mgrs, what with the buttons and the velcro, etc. He says they've found a solution but Patrick said before the show that in talking with Kraft, he still gets fined every game.

Seriously though, I *love* that Wilfork is getting considerable as defensive MVP, and I don't think I'm being a homer in saying that he should be the top candidate. Take him out of the lineup for any extended period, and the Pats defense would be a shell of itself. Thats not even considering the leadership aspect that he brings, easily propelling him over guys like Mathews, Harrison, and Peppers (who was destroyed by our TE's 1:1). In fact, all of these guys were neutralized by our offense. What offensive line has really neutralized Wilfork? Can't put Cleveland all on him. Polumalu is in the conversation, but I don't see anyone else coming close.

I love hearing Wilfork interviews, but Dan Patrick stomped out a chance at radio gold there. Vince was giving a rare glimpse into the personality of the locker room, and Dan Patrick cut him off. I really would love to have heard more of the nicknames the offense has for each other.

well..vince was giving the usual stuff about the great locker room and good team and special bond and all that which is good to hear if you are a pats fan . but dp show is more about entertainment so thats why dan was more interested in asking irrelevant but entertaining stuff like his uniforms and his weight and all that. The nickname was really welker giving tom after his postgame outfit on dan patrick show itself towards the end of the interview here http://ht.cdn.turner.com/si/danpatrick/audio/2010/12/14/DP-Wes_Welker-12-14-10_Interview.mp3

I can't believe he had 87 tackles this year. That is an insane number out of a NT.

He is not a nose tackle any more. Playing mostly DE in the 3/4. I think they saw too many RBs turning the corner where there was no McGinest or Vrabel and decided to use big Vince to channel them back into Mayo and Spikes. This strategic decision has not gotten enough attention IMO.

Yep, listened to the interview linked earlier in the thread. Either way, what Vince was about to say was gonna be radio gold, and we all missed out.

This year Wilfork has been no more an NT than Suh has been a DT.

Pretty funny fact about the jersey fine. Anyone know how much the fine is?
