Patriots' Vince Wilfork talks about his weight, Tom Brady - Dan Patrick.com
"You're not 325"
"I'm every bit of it"
This is a funny and great interview. Talks about the Cleveland game being a turnaround point. He and Welker call Brady "Zoolander". I had no idea that he gets fined every game for not being able to tuck his jersey in. I'd be willing to bet that fine is gladly paid by the franchise. I love the strategies he's worked on with the equipment mgrs, what with the buttons and the velcro, etc. He says they've found a solution but Patrick said before the show that in talking with Kraft, he still gets fined every game.
Seriously though, I *love* that Wilfork is getting considerable as defensive MVP, and I don't think I'm being a homer in saying that he should be the top candidate. Take him out of the lineup for any extended period, and the Pats defense would be a shell of itself. Thats not even considering the leadership aspect that he brings, easily propelling him over guys like Mathews, Harrison, and Peppers (who was destroyed by our TE's 1:1). In fact, all of these guys were neutralized by our offense. What offensive line has really neutralized Wilfork? Can't put Cleveland all on him. Polumalu is in the conversation, but I don't see anyone else coming close.
