It was an irrelevent game nobody cared about when it was the week after the SB.

Now it is an irrelevant game nobody cares about...just two weeks earlier.

How often is a guy that isn't even first on the team in snaps in his position voted to the Pro-Bowl?

Jesus... Mankins and Meriweather? You've gotta be kidding me. Chung, Sanders, Page, and even McGowan and Sergio Brown are all better all-around players than him... what a joke.

Cause Goodell wanted to put his thumb print on the league, and picked about the biggest head scratcher I could think of to do it.

There has been a huge droppoff since Paul Tagliabue retired.

Merriweather making it is a joke.

He's not even the best safety on the team.

But then again, the pro bowl and the every all star game is a joke.

Can anybody remember off the top of their head the last time a player made the pro bowl after going in and out of the lineup because of their play?

How about Marc Mariani making it over Jacoby Ford, Brad Smith or Brandon Tate?

The NBA is even worse.

I believe Alonzo Mourning missed two years in a row, yet still made both all star teams.

Andrew Bynum of the Lakers just returned and he leads centers in all star voting. However, I don't know if he still does right now.

What is awesome is that Devin McCourty is the first CB to make the Pro Bowl since Charles Woodson in 1998.

Congrats to all the Pats who made it, but specifically to McCourty. What a great season he has had.

From the first play of the season when the Bengals went after him with Owens, the man has been a flat out baller.

He is so consistant as well. Not perfect, Teams may have a pass or two on him. But they will be contested. And more times then not coverage is solid.

You could see partway through the season when he started turning his head back. That is when he went from a strong corner to a playmaker.

He was "benched" for lateness during the week.

And, yes, you're on crack if you're claiming that Chung, Sanders, Page, McGowan and Brown are all better safeties than Meriweather.

Hmmmm. So one poster says Brandon Meriweather is a worse safety than Sergio Brown. Another poster says Meriweather is better than James Harrison.

NO WAY is Meriweather a worse player than Brown (and I am not baggin on Brown, he's a pretty decent player for what he does), that is just a hater spewing nonsense and trolling for hits.

NO WAY is Meriweather a better player than James Harrison. James Harrison is a game changer, a perennial DPOY candidate, and someone that must be gameplanned for each and every week. That is one of the most nonsensical things I have read on this site, which is saying something.

Can we just chock both of these opinions up as friggin stupid, say Meriweather falls somewhere in between, and move on?

i said he's the pats james harrison in terms of big hits and dirty hits. Not comparing their skills just their style of play. THATS ALL!!


They took it out of context and thought i was comparing their skills.

I can't believe Meriweather made it over Chung!

His play on D in the secondary and on ST's is second only to McCourty. No way Meriweather should've made it over Chung.

Another poster has already said this, but they weren't going head to head with each other - Meriweather was classified as an FS on the ballot, Chung is an SS.

Wasn't Meriweather third in the fan voting or something? Some coaches and players had to vote for ihm too.
