Would you want a Pats vs Giants Rematch Superbowl?

That would be fitting, but the Pats versus "anyone" in the Superbowl would make me happy. Seriously, I just want another shot at it.

It'd be nice to play Baltimore AFC playoffs and scrap them up then go on to SB and pummel the Giants. That way we kill 2 birds with one stone in the sense

I'd prefer giants or falcons. I think saints would have a good chance at beating this team. Falcons and giants I think pats can matchup well against.

You're a better person than I.
I don't begrudge the Giants team themselves. It was a remarkable performance and one that I'm sure we'd all have appreciated much more if it didn't come at our expense. But the Giants still represent that moment in time when I hated everybody who dogpiled on the Patriots all season and got to have the last laugh, a moment that never stops being unfair to me. It also allowed NY fans to get their mojo back, and it wasn't long after that we saw the MFY win the WS. THAT is why I carry the grudge. The Giants were enablers of all this bad Boston sports baggage that we're carrying around today and I delight in seeing them CRUSHED at every opportunity.

This!

It wasn't just losing. It was losing when we could have made history as a perfect 19-0 team, with so much adversity and hate against us. It was a one-in-a-million $#@#$! damn lucky play against a NEW YORK TEAM. And they weren't even 15-1 or 14-2. They were a fluke 11-5. In other words, THEY WERE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE!

So, yeah, crown their a****, but they were who we thought they were.

ANY SB win will definitely negate the sting of '07 but against the Giants would be doubly sweet.

And, yes, I've hated the Giants with a passion since then. Actually, I hated them before the SB, but REALLY hated them afterwards.

Actually they were 10-6. It was the day that all that could go wrong did go wrong. There is no other explanation. Matt Walsh....Arlen Spector....Giant D...Faulk hurt....Neal hurt...Tyree....

I want the Pats to win the Super Bowl. That's it.

If victory was guaranteed, then I could see hoping/rooting for this or that team, depending on your interest in various opponents. But since it's not guaranteed, Pats fans should hope for the team the Pats are most likely to beat. Anything else is idiotic.

I still am really not over 2007. I think this is Coughlin's last year and I really want a rematch against them. I think that is the only way I will feel ok about it all. What do you guys think?

If it is the Giants, I can understand the need for revenge, as the 2007 win by the Giants was a colossal "fluke" - one magic play with 2 fouls not called on the offense and Eli escaping to make a miraculous throw and catch (on the helmet)

I still remember that moment, watching the ball stick to the guy's helmet in disbelief. If Rodney had only played the ball, not the man ... but that's Rodney, he always went for the big hit on the player.

I would also like to erase that "We stomped you" cheer from a one play winner. Somehow, I think we'll face the Eagles or Atlanta - either way, the SB is going to be a tough game and we, of course, expect our boys to come out on top. I don't think we need any miracles, just solid football.

NYG, Atlanta, Chicago, Philadelphia, bring 'em all on. The one I don't want is New Orleans - I think that's matchup hell for the Pats on both sides of the ball....

I wouldn't mind seeing a Pats/Giants Super Bowl. Not only to seek revenge for ruining the perfect season, but it will send Jets fans over the edge.

I absolutely detest the Giants and their arrogant, classless fans.

So, assuming we’d definitely win I’d LOVE to see them in the SB and watch Brady carve them up like Thanksgiving Turkey. That being said, I don’t even want to see them in the playoffs, I want to see them collapse like a rotten outhouse NOW, if they make it deep into the playoffs NY can at least feel good about that, I don’t want them to feel good about ANYTHING.

i want the pats holding up the lombardi trophy. idc who they play as long as they win.

Honestly I'd love to see the anybody but the Eagles in the SB.

....I prefer to beat the best at their best in the biggest occasion there is. Every single person of elite performance thinks that way.

How about first winning Playoff game #1 versus whatever team is the opponent. And then go from there.

I would love a Pats/Giants rematch, especially if they spot us 28 points in the 4th quarter! ;)

Seriously, a rematch, and a win, of course, would take away the sting a little bit. I don't think the G-Men are going to make the post season, though, after that debacle.

The Giants are by far the best team in the NFC when they are on (and don't choke). A rematch would be scary because when they're clicking they can dominate any team in this league.

That said, I would prefer the Giants because of the exorcising demons from 2007 factor, and I think we would seal the deal this time with no questions asked.

As long as I know we an beat them, then yes. If it is going to be close then I don't know. I do trust McCourty a little more than Asante :D

My preference would be to avoid two weeks of ESPN going on a non-stop loop of the helmet catch.

So nah.

Don't forget Brady was wearing a boot until the super bowl.

Brady was a statue in the super bowl.

I don't see the Giants doing what they did in 2007 and winning 3 games on the road to get there.

They just collapsed to the Eagles and would probably lose again if they meet again.

Also, they wouldn't match up well with the Saints or even the Falcons.

JINX thread, abort, abort.

Seriously though, one game at a time.

The Giants probably match up better against the Patriots than any other team in the NFL, and people want to meet them in the Super Bowl. :bricks:
