Boston Herald: MRI for McCourty

I'm just happy that we aren't still struggling for the top dog of the AFC east. If that were the case and he was out, it would not be good for us.

"Updated at 6:38 p.m.: I’m told McCourty’s injury is not believed to be serious. Not close to season-ending or anything like that. I’m not ruling out him missing the game… but that would be precautionary."

:rocker:

I'm optimistic simply because if it happened on the strip that Guyton recovered for a TD, McCourty got up pretty fast after making the play. If it was bad enough, he would of stayed down.

I never thought I would live to see it, but Butler played good and almost had an INT.

For a second there I read the title as IR for McCourty

Remember Jacobi Ellsbury.. not that he is anywhere near as tough as McCourty.. but rib injuries can be a bytch..

I think we can win all 6 without him, but what do I know? We were only supposed to win 10 games without Moss.

He will be fine. Pats dont have to rush him back either, which is a positive

Somebody get Earthwind Moreland on the phone!

Who? Can he rush the passer?

I let go a huge sigh of relief when I read that.

I figured since McCourty came back into the game for a few plays after it happened, it couldn't be too too bad. But you never know.

Butler played well in his place. Not as good, but still pretty well. If Rodgers is out, I wouldn't mind letting McCourty rest a bit.

Naw, don't bother. Its my understanding Woodhead played corner in Pop Warner. Word is that he'll be starting opposite Arrington while DMac is convalescing. :rocker:

At 6:30 P.M., WCVB/Channel 5 veteran reporter Mike Dowling, reporting live from Gillette Stadium, said McCourty could even play on Sunday.

Is Devin the Pats' most indispensible rookie ever?

Si.

I'd say Michael Haynes (1970's) over McCourty, based on his dual role as a fabulous punt returner.

As I recall, McCourty had a rep for returns in his college years.
But the Pats don't use him this way for some reason.

The way things have worked so far this year, Belichick could probably turn the guy who parks his car at dinner into a starting Corner in a week or two. ;)

What??? I didn't realize that I would even have a chance. I better get ready for the phone call.
