A little early for the sauce, no? You need to get your eyes checked bro.

My eyes checked?

Those who expect 13-3 might want to take off those Red,Blue Silver ones ;)

This is a tough stretch coming up for this team or ANY team to go through,I would be THRILLED with a 3-3 mark the next month 1/2

....Remember Cincy beat the Ravens as well but I'm not putting them in the SB

Overreacting to a win and overreacting to a loss seems to be a disease in this forum.

Yeah, but look on the upside. Without it we wouldn't have the fun of reading so many really ridiculous statements.

I'm saying we're a better team than we have been in the last 2 years, based on our players and their potential, and I think the Colts are a worse team this year than they were in the last two years. Then I look at our 2 road losses to them which were very close games, and I think that translates to us stomping them at home this year!

well..how much worse are they ? they dont have bob sanders as usual. same run defense.Same manning/clark/wayne/collie/garcon . just saying.. every yr people predict the colts decline but they are pretty much the same. Suspect defense held by 2 very good pass rushers which plays great with a lead when u dont have to run the ball and a very efficient offense which may have had problems but is usually as reliable as it gets...just my opinion

SVN, you've addressed the colts side of the equation, but I too think the Pats are becoming and will be a better team buy the colts game than they were the last two years, yet you don't? And you also think playing at Gillette will not affect the game either?

It's never a sure thing against the colts obviously, however many seem to think it is- a sure thing they will beat us. I think TBradyOwnsYou has it right on this one, as far as the Pats winning, but i think it will be close (1 TD or less).

schedules so tough. san diego minnesota indy nyj upcoming ....not gonna be easy

Coming into the year I said 11-5, and that's still what I'm hoping for.

Sun 12/12/2010 1:00 PM @ Bears (W)

Sun 12/26/2010 1:00 PM @ Bills (W)
Sun 1/2/2011 1:00 PM vs Dolphins (W)

10-6. I am hoping to be conservative here so don't go all apesh1t on me people.

Expect the worst and hope for the best...!! I have absolutely no problem eating my words should they continue their roll. The next 5 games (Browns trap game better be not included) are gonna be a good measuring stick. The good thing our D is going to be playing against Rivers, Manning and Big Ben. I am hoping after that run we see continued improvement back there...

If the D continues to play like they did in the 4th and the Offense plays well like they have been this team should go 13-3.

IMO we have played harder this yr and seems to be a better cohesiveness. but lot of inconsistency and the D will have its hands full vs the colts. I dont know about better than last yr in terms of talent, no faulk,no moss , no mankins ,welker isnt a 100% yet which isnt an issue because the 2 TE have offset a lot of his production but on paper ,last yr's team had a little more experience of dealing with the colts. playing at home helps but the colts road record in the last decade is only bettered by the patriots HOME record. That is some stat. We can be better by the colts game but as much as i see the promising signs on our D as of today manning will have a field day with them and consider the QB's we have faced so far -palmer,sanchez,fitzpatrick, henne,flacco.- not exactly world class.
I think starting this week with SD , the pats will see some real classic QB's in rivers, favre(yes yes he sucks but somehow he always shows up vs us),rothelisberger and manning with colt mcoy mixed in between as possible respite . So by the colt game we might be better or maybe in a tough situation..remains to be seen.

This team is still VERY young at some very important positions. I think anywhere between 10-6 and 12-4 is realistic. I still expect youth to bite us in the ass a couple of more times this season (see Indy, Manning VS. Young boys).

Looking at this schedule and your prediction I have the feeling that 10-6 is rather pessimistic, and should be the lower bound. OTOH if we go better than 12-4 we will have to get a lot more consistent than we were in the last 2 games.

From last year to this year you are saying our defense got worse? Last year we were ahead with what, 1:30ish left and had 4th and 2 and our defense was so bad that we went for it instead of punting because we knew if we gave Manning the ball, he'd score. I don't think our defense is "worse" than that!!
I also think facing Rivers and Rapethisberger, two very good QBs, will give our defense more experience and more confidense going in to the Colts game.
Will Manning torch us? Heck ya! It's Manning. But I think our defense will step up more than our defense did last year. After 5 games we've watched them make mistakes, grow and learn and start to show that they have potential.
I also think our offense is better than last year as well.
Add all this together and make it a home game and I just don't see how we lose it.
Will it be close? I think almost every single Pats-Colts game is close. However, I can see us getting ahead and then putting the peddle down on them.

I still don't think we can take anything for granted this season. The defence, while improving, is still green. I worry in particular about the secondary being exploited by pass happy teams. I started out thinking we were a 9-7 team this year. I think we have a shot at getting to 12-4 with more help from special teams and if the D grows up quick.

But I'm only going to upgrade to 10-6.

in August we were 10-6 at best how bout now?

Everyone was talking about how there was no chance we would beat; The Ravens, The Dolphins in Miami, The Packers, The Vikings, The Colts, and The Bengals...Now what?? Packers Vikes and Colts look extremely vulnerable and we beat the others could we be 12-4; 13-3? Your thoughts...

Re: in August we were 10-6 at best how bout now?

12-4 seems realistic, but lets not get ahead of ourselves...the schedule is still brutal, and you never know.

Re: in August we were 10-6 at best how bout now?

11-5, if we're lucky.

Re: in August we were 10-6 at best how bout now?

I predicted 14-2 and i am standing by it i don't care if i am a homer

Re: in August we were 10-6 at best how bout now?

Well, in August we were 0-0. None of the games counted. We're 4-1 now and we've played to that. We've played good on D in some and poorly on D in others. The o has been more consistent but there have been some mistakes. Hopefully we'll continue to improve some each week.

just like BB would say.;)

Re: in August we were 10-6 at best how bout now?

11-5, if we're lucky.

11-5 would be a step in the right direction but lets look at the games that are "should be wins" Browns, lions, bills @ Phins at home. then you get the Jets at home and Vikes who are not half as good as we all gave credit for. I see 12-4 as an easy goal at this point. But we shall see I guess. In the meantime how bout 5 more threads about how our D sucks.

Re: in August we were 10-6 at best how bout now?

I'm staying with my 11-5 or 10-6 just for now. There's to many variables that can dent the best laid plans. That said, any record above the aforementioned will be greeted with raucous applause if it leads to a play-off appearance at Foxboro.

Re: in August we were 10-6 at best how bout now?

I never thought the Pats were 10-6 at best. I always thought they had the potential to win 12 games, possibly more.

Re: in August we were 10-6 at best how bout now?

There is not a single game on our schedule that we can't win.

That said it is likely we lose at least another 1 or 2 just due to the theme of any given sunday. Based on this I feel that 13-3 is a large possibility.
