Evans 1 rec. 11 yards. End of discussion. This guy is playing out of his freaking mind and he needs to be our first priority this offseason.

in the offseason..lets do it now. Lee Evans was held to 2 catches for 25 yards against Hobbs was pretty good job

i agree though..Samuel is our best CB since Ty Law

Mods, can we merge this with then Asante Samuel appreciation thread that has already been pushed to page 2 by all the new threads?

Hey, Alk, haven't seen ya around for a while. What happened? They take your Husker away from you?

Samuel is playing well and developing into a good corner. Still would like to see him work on his hands though. As far as resigning him...only if he fits the value profile of the team and no one breaks the bank to steal him from us. Both are doubtful, judging from history. No way this team pays him more than lower #1 or upper #2 corner money, cause thats what he is. But if some team wants to hand him Champ Bailey money, get ready to say good bye.

I've been around. I had Ian drop the Husker off of my name. I'm still a Huskers fan but it didn't make much sense using that name in a Patriots forum. I agree about the money, I wouldn't even want the Patriots to give him Bailey type money. But make no mistake, this kid has earned himself a nice contract whether it's from us or someone else.

I'm glad you guys all want to keep Assante he' da man:D

Good to know that it was elective surgery.

The key here is if he is willing to take a good raise, get paid fair money and stay here, or if he wants to maximize his earnings. Most have chosen the latter (sigh). Cant blame them. Careers are short in this league. But the Pats will NOT, under any circumstances pay top 10 kinda money for any player who isn't legitimately top 10 and projected to stay that way for the duration of the new contract.

Why? So he can be mediocre until his next contract year?

He's still our best corner and gets it done on sundays!

I think he's good, but not elite. I wonder what kind of money he wants. It might be prudent to franchise him for a year while the rookies are getting up to speed. Next year's rookies.

He's definatly not elite, but he's a solid and reliable corner.
