you play fantasy football huh? i'm trying to give it up. i only did one league this year and decided to use a pats player at every position to destroy the credibililty of ffl. now i can just cheer for the pats.

So, in other words, you decided to be a loser and ruin the league for other people. Nice job. Shows the kind of person you are.

Fantasy football is just a game like any other. It has no bearing on real life. And if you can't take it as just a game, then YOU are the problem. Not the game.

I don't care what you say Caspir, when it comes down to Maroney or Bush, I'll take Maroney.

Part of that comes down to our system and what we need him to do here. We already have a good receiving back in Faulk. We need a guy who can take handoffs and get yards. Bush hasn't proven he can do that.

sure i'm the loser, fantasy football causes you to root for lousy teams that have no bearing on the pats. i'm watching the pats for the pats, not stat watching.

so what kind of person am I?

i talked about maroney and knew who he was in the pre season and in college. I wrote posts about maroney and people on this site where saying maroney will be lucky to make team. I posted things about maroney being the rookie of the year, back in the pre season. Go look, it is titled "the rookie runnung back". I even posted a thread "cobbs vs. maroney" and some dumb fools said cobbs was better.

Maroney is friggin nasty. Would be tacklers just fall right off of him, it's insane.

I think it's just absolutely amazing that without a pick in the top 20, we very well might have gotten the best RB in the draft and the best WR in the draft.

Maybe right on Maroney , but did you see the rookie Colston from the Saints ? Taken late 7th rd this yr.

He's a stud,plain and simple.Reggie who??

Actually, from my experience, Fantasy football causes you to root for individual PLAYERS, not lousy teams.

You can watch the Pats for the Pats. Great. But to purposely enter a league just to tank it shows you to be a loser. Plain and simple. If you don't like it, don't play. But you don't have to ruin the experience for others.

haha, well i told you guys maroney is amazing when you first drafted him! And also I'm sure you can dig up me sayng he's better than Bush :) BUT, in any case, it is so fun watching my favorite college player of all time do pretty well in the NFL!

Just remember who Bush played against in college. Pac 10 football is not on the same level as Big 10.

He was a good pick for sure... Wasn't he a local product of Loozeeana?

Maroney has 30 more yards than Bush this year.
(Plus 3 tds!!)
It is a long season.
Glad we made the right choice so far.
Hope he gets ROTW.
Then ROTY

Luckily for us Pats fans, it sounds like Maroney would much rather have a ring than ROTY. :)

Went to Hofstra, I believe he's from Pennsylvania.

It may not be a valid comparison. Fine. But if I were running the Patriots and had a chance to trade Maroney for Bush (forgetting about the money difference), I would definitely still have Maroney at the end of the phone call.

I will say I am very grateful that Reggie Bush has taken custody of the Diet Pepsi Machine commercials....that damn machine killed us last year.;)
No kidding, every one of those machines demand more money and come up short in clutch situations.

I think 3 good games out of 4 is pretty consistent for a rookie running back. Buffalo has a good, fast set of linebackers. And we never play well against Denver, the whole team played poorly, especially the offensive line.

Keep in mind that if you're going by "total yards", Maroney was still over 100 in that game because of receiving (around 65), rushing (15 or so), and kick returns (probably 30+). I'm just kidding, of course, but I don't like Bush (even though he was incredible in college) and I think Maroney is a superstud.

You have to remember that it's combined running attack. The Patriots have the ultimate combination of a power back (Corey Dillon) who can get in and pound the hell out of the D, and a quick (and strong) 21 year old running machine. It's hard for a defense to adjust to these two styles of running in the middle of the game. Corey Dillon was an animal out there yesterday.

You just knew Corey wanted to have a big game and he did. He was running so hard and it was so apparent....he was willing himself not to be stopped. That was one fourth down I was not that nervous about.

Exactly

Dillon keyed this victory

Dillon was incredible out there yesterday. He was also able to turn the corner pretty nicely against the Bengals D, for all those doubters who thought he had lost a step last year.

Maroney seems to ATTACK the defender. You could really see it on the second TD run.

As Peter King said in his SI column, Shanahan was probably sitting in the bye week wishing he'd taken Maroney rather than Cutler in the draft. He did say at the time that he believed the Patriots got a "steal" and that Maroney was, contrary to all the Bush backers, the best RB in the draft. You know, with Shanahan's history of great backs I'll take his opinion a bit more seriously than some of the so called "pundits" of the draft. And, sure enough, Maroney is having a great rookie season. Some idiot in the media said Maroney hadn't been racking up the large yardage before this and, I must point (as if I should need to) that Maroney is *sharing* time with Corey Dillon at RB (sometimes the "experts" lack of smarts amazes even me). The kid's going to be a great one.:D
