Exhibitions are over and all cases are made, so I thought a place for final predictions would be appropriate. Fire away!

Moss, welker, edelman, tate, price and aiken. Robe Owens or Darnell Jenkins to PS.

If we are really going on what has been seen and not behind doors, Price to practice squared and Jenkins makes it.
So
Moss, Welker, Tate, edelman, Jenkins, Aiken

No third-round rookie has failed to make the team in the Belichick era. He might end up on IR, but I can't see Price being cut.

I can see Jenkins and Farnham, perhaps, making the PS.

Price will make the team, but he'll probably be inactive on gameday.

IMO it's: Moss, Welker, Tate, Edelman, Price, Aiken, with Jenkins going to the PS. Wouldn't be surprised if Jenkins makes the team and Aiken gets cut.

Farnham is a great story,I root for the kid..but really, he'd be better served putting that Ivy League education toi use somewhere other than the NFL

I dunno, if he can hook on on the end of someone's roster, he's making good money, and playing in the NFL is a hell of a resume-builder if you're smart too.

Find a way to keep Jenkins. You can't teach speed and he's got lots of it.

Plus, he went full speed on whatever he was asked to do, had a pretty good field of vision when the ball was in his hands, and was generally not afraid to get hit. Someone will pick him up if he's cut.

point taken

and yes, Jenkins has upside...you can't teach speed

Well, I would think that

Moss
Welker
Edelman
Tate
Price

is pretty much locked in. Jenkins would make 6, which means that Aikens would likely be cut or looked at as just a special teams guy.

Does that work for you?

Well said.

incredible touchdown. Still think they go with Aikens experience though

Aikens IS just a special teams guy. Jenkins is a better receiver and overall offensive threat than Aikens. Aikens is only out there on offense when we go 'Big' and he's used as a blocker. Maybe we can fill that role in our 'big' offense with Hernandez seeing as he's more or less a WR. He's a better receiver than Aikens and he won't be called to block DEs like he's called on to do now as a TE but rather block DBs like Aiken is called to do when we go 'big' in our offense.

Really?

You couldn't have just had one thread for final roster predictions?
Seems indulgent.

Ian ran a predictions night several weeks back, and he used more categories than I did. This is just a followup. I did combine some positions, but I felt that debates/discussions would be more obvious if the lists were broken down into at least some categories.

Indulgent to who/what? Who makes it in the secondary and who makes it at WR are completely different conversations. Why would we clump them together? Besides, it's not like we have a ton to talk about...

Did Farnham play on special teams?

We all know how much BB loves versatility and he brings that in buckets if he is decent on STs.

I agree that Moss, Welker, Edelman, Tate and Price are locks. After that I think Aiken is going to make it with Farnham having a shot if he is decent on STs.

Moss
Welker
Edelman
Tate
Price
Jenkins

Aikens will stay as a STer, and make occasional appearances at WR. Given the injury problems the team has had in recent years, I think Jenkins provides better insurance at the position than Aiken does.

Besides, it's not like we have a ton to talk about...

We could always make another Jets thread.

And yeah, I realize the irony of the statement, given my siggy. That will change soon once I finish my thesis and find my binky for this season.

Have to find a spot for Jenkins...no way he makes it onto the PS..

(Hope I'm wrong if BB decides to cut him)

Jenkins won't make it. If it was up to me he would but I seriously doubt we'll drop Price for him.

Moss, Welker, Tate, Edelman, Price, Aiken (ST). I'm not counting Hernandez as a WR even though that's where he lined up. His roster spot will count as a hit against the TE's.

Agreed that there's no way he makes it to the practice squad. Some team hungry for speed (the Faiders?) will scoop him up. He looked mighty good last night. The big knock on Jenkins since his time at Miami, though, is his inability to run crisp routes. If he can't do that, then he's not ever going to gel here.
