Chargers' Cromartie singled out in ESPN report on Florida State | ProFootballTalk.com

ESPN's Outside the Lines did a lengthy investigation into the role of academics in Florida State's football program, and the report that ran on ESPN Sunday morning singled out one former Seminole, Antonio Cromartie, as a player who particularly struggled academically when he was on campus.

The Outside the Lines report quoted a former teammate and classmate of Cromartie's as saying that Cromartie's reading level was so low that he could only read a word or two every minute.

??????

The Barstool dude had a great line about him not being able to read the instructions on a box of condums...but thats a different thread.

sad actually...player listens to the people gets an ego and the girls and the rest is history..

The real sad part is that the 95% of kids that don't make the NFL wind up with no education and no compensation for giving up their bodies in order to make the schools and the NCAA (and the head coaches) billions of dollars.
so sad that they get scholarship money to play football, while others have to pay tuition.

Well, the state of Florida, individual in question need to take some responsibility. How was he allowed to play college football?

well....if you had to read shakespeare in order to get an INT, I'd say he was in trouble

what did that guy score on the wonderlic and how did he get drafted in the first round ?

Understood, but how about the playbook, how does this guy take notes, or have any kind of recall on the field as to what he's being told in the film room?

Its odd to me, thats all. I know 4 year olds that can read.

Maybe that's why he prefers man coverage over zone. Think about it, in zone coverages you need some wits about you understanding coverages and thinking quickly based on what you see.

In man coverage it's basically "hey kid, follow that guy around".

Now when I think about it that it will actually work out well for the blitz happy Jets defense.

But, that's just not true.

Chris Johnson scored a 10 on the Wonderlic. He also rushed for 2,000 yards in the NFL last season. Clearly you don't have to be a genius to be a beast of a football player.

dont you get a 15 if you just sign your name?

Meadowlands crowd:

"J-E-T-S...Jets!-Jets!Jets!"

Antonio Cromartie to Revis: "Darrelle, what the heck are they talking about?"

The guy who said he can't read is Fred Rouse, who robbed his own teammate, fought with coaches and turned himself in with a pocket full of x...not a trustworthy source.

No, you're thinking about the SATs. I've taken a Wonderlic mock test, and it's all math and english questions that you have to answer in rapid fire succession within the time limit given. Some of them are simple, but some are tricky. You get scored on how many you get right.

Check it out, here's a website that has some practice questions.
