2010 NFL Pro-Bowl game discussion

It's just an exhibition and a chance for the players to let their hair down and enjoy a pressure free game of football. The majority of players seem to enjoy the experience and play the occasion as such, unless your on the Colts or Saints roster.

You're hardly going to see the intensity of a regular game, even from Ray Lewis.

The Grammys are an even bigger joke than the Pro-Bowl.

Absolutely true. The Grammys have nothing to do with talent and everything to do with corporate $$$.

As Trent Reznor said

Grammy a** h*** weekend in LA. Yuck.

The Grammys = the old guard / old media propping up their puppets trying to convince the outside world (and each other) they're relevant.

McNabb is playing just like it's a real game ... he's throwing ducks out there.

Jaworski ... 151 interceptions .... yup. :cool::cool::cool:

Would be nice to watch Ngata and Wilfork play together in a real game for the Pats.

attendance: 70,697

Largest crowd at Pro Bowl since 1959 at LA Coliseum

Which is exactly why the NFL has no reason to ever get rid of the Pro-Bowl. (regardless of how many of those seats they had to give away)

They're still making plenty of money from it.

Every time Young or Garrard throw incompletions, you take one shot. Every time they throw picks, you take two shots.

This is a new drinking game to make the Pro Bowl fun. But until those two come in I have to think of a different game.

I'm not sure of the roster, but if Favre's in they'll need paramedics on call.

By the way, since I'm ignoring this snoozefest, I'll reiterate my idea, which I think is good.

Forget regular season games in foreign countries. Have the Pro Bowl in a foreign country every year. You could have it in warm areas of Europe and it would still be accessible to the whole continent (Europe is small).

Have it in China or Australia. Have it after the SB to limit costly injuries.

It's only a spectacle anyway and foreign fans get to see players.

That was actually a very entertaining play.

this is the stupidest thing i have every seen. The players are playing at half speed (i dont blame them) and the game is just a waste of time.

Just make it an awards thing and forget the game.

I'm starting to like the idea of an awards show with highlight clips. And since it's the beginning of the calendar year, it would fit in with all the other entertainment award shows too.

Somewhere I saw the suggestion that they play the Pro Bowl in preseason. I don't know that it would ever happen, but that might not be a bad idea to consider either. The last week before the season starts, when none of the starters play anyways might be a good time, but there would obviously be a lot of complaints about pulling players out of camp, less time with their team, etc. They'd probably have to limit it to no more than three days of practices or else teams wouldn't agree to it though.

the hardest hits all night have been on the Grammys...

PINK...YOWSAH!!!!!

Every year I say I'm not going to watch the Pro-Bowl, but I do. Guess I'm desperate to watch NFL football...

but this isn't "NFL football"....

Logan Mankins let's the nation know he's playing in the Pro Bowl.

We should have been rushing Logan Mankins in the Baltimore game!

I always liked the idea of a full blown skills competition:

For QB's we could have most accurate passer and strongest arm
NFL's strongest man, NFL's fastest man
Obstacle course for the receivers/running backs/db's
FG comptetition (maybe some kind of horse) and coffin corner/longest punt

Then you could have 1 on 1's both in passing drills and in pass protection

The players could earn individual titles and I think their ego's would motivate them to compete hard. Also, you could award points per conference and have a winning side at the end.

I think this would be really interesting and fun to watch.

PS the European Pro Bowl sounds like a pretty good idea for marketing/spreading the game's popularity
