Re: Defining Stats for the Season

Hmmmm

it almost looks like there's a problem in the second half. Specifically the 4th quarter

interesting

The patriots didn't look good, but liverpool looks much worse, the way they are playing, Benitez will be fired, and torres will go to Madrid.

Our defense will be fine, don't worry, with warren and wilfork, wilhite benched, burgess playing the way he is,we'll be fine

No kidding :( That's why I need NE to win something 'cos Liverpool aren't gonna do anything.

lol... I just wanted to point out the obvious, but with stats!

Without your stats this problem may have gone completely unnoticed

Hopefully the coaching staff visits here because it's obvious they haven't detected the problem yet

That or the coaching staff is drunk by the fourth quarter.

Re: Defining stats for the season

Yes, this we all have witnessed all year.

But the huge question is... why?

What precisely is the reason for our consistent late-game collapses?

Conditioning? Is our D simply getting worn out? Are all of our young players simply unable to last a whole game right now?

Is it Brady? How are his personal stats in 4th quarter? Something in his head? Something in the coaches heads?

Why this sudden massive shift to late collapse?

Re: Defining stats for the season

I guess for the D you would have to say leadership. They can play, I just don't think they have anybody in that huddle to stop the momentum when it starts turning. Happens every game on the road they star rockin back on their heals and then before you know it their in ful blown backpedal. It's all I can come up with....

Offense, bad coaching, addicted to the pass. Patty cake run game with slide and zone blocking. No sand in their pants......

Re: Defining stats for the season

I would have to say for the D it's the "10 yards off your man, give up the catch but don't let them run" style we keep switching too

It is a trend, is it not. Personally, I hope the game is close in the 4th quarter when, and if, we play a road playoff game. Otherwise, I just know we will loose in some heartbreaking manner.

This team just can't put teams away.

Good thing this team is peaking for the playoffs.. :singing:

Colts game, Denver game, and Miami Game were all meaningless as well...wait

Did we already have the division won in those games?

Seriously, the stupidity you show is monumental. What part of already clinched didn't you comprende'?

Re: Defining stats for the season

Overall Adjusted Points Per Game (not including true road games in second half)

Offense: 32.5 ppg
Defense: 15.0 ppg

True road games, second half (adjusted points per game)

Offense: 11.7 ppg
Defense: 28.0 ppg

Patriots in the 4th Quarter in seven true road games (adjusted points per game)

Offense: 9.7 ppg (17 total points in 7 quarters)
Defense: 41.4 ppg (72 total points in 7 quarters)

Here's some other defining stats for the season:

- Record in true road games: 1-6
- Number of games lost after leading by >= 10 points in the 2nd half: 4 (Denver, Indy, Miami and Houston)
- Number of games in which we allowed 12 ore more unanswered points in the 2nd half: 7 (Jets, Denver, Indy, New Orleans, Miami, Houston)
- Number of games in which our offense scored 7 or fewer points in the 2nd half: 7 (Jets, Denver, Jets, New Orleans, Miami, Buffalo, Jacksonville)
- Number of games in which our defense gave up 21 or more points in the 4th quarter: 2 (Indy, Houston)
- Record after December 1: 3-2. The only other times in the BB era that the Pats have lost 2 games after December 1 were in 2000 and 2002

And yet some people on here are actually dumb enough to argue that this is still an elite team.

You're an idiot. Your son is running around here- look for him under NEPatriots

we scored 7 pts in the 2nd half , the same the D scored . our offense again didnt help our defense when it counted when it has all the money players on its side.iam not letting the offense of the hook for our 2nd half collapse. 1 drive wouldve helped the team win the game. thats how the colts have won 14 games this yr.

I blame it on slow or inept in making adjustments... as the game goes on, they play worse and worse... need real coordinators.

Sadly the board has a few Jets style members here today.

............. The banning trigger needs to be a bit quicker IMO.

I'm wondering what part of meaningless tie some people don't understand today? Sure ghosts of past performances were evident, but I wasn't really concerned with today at all.
