Could Gillette Host Winter Classic?

I must admit that I am glad that Fenway got to host the first one.

What do you mean 'first one' ? This is the THIRD Winter classic. And I don't get the February talk- the Winter Classic is held on New Years day which is in January.

I think the other OP's are correct , count the Bruins out for a few years in hosting this event- they had their turn and other clubs are chomping at the bit to get in the action.

The hot rumors are it will be held in Canada or Minn in 2011

I meant the first one in this area. Again, I am referring to whether the Bruins try and do this outside of the Winter Classic concept, not on New Years' Day. If the NHL would allow it, I think the area could host outdoor hockey once a year and they should consider Gillette in February if they do.

Probably in 5-10 years. There's only so many markets where this game would be feasible, so we'll get some repeats eventually. Gillette would also be much better than Fenway for people being able to actually see the game.

It's hard enough to see a football from the 300s nevermind a hockey puck.

Love your articles Bob but $380 bucks (from what I was told by a fan at the Jax game) for a January hockey game is robbery. The NHL, Bruins and the clowns who own the Red Sox should be thrown in jail. With this economy that's an atrocity.

I'll stick to college hockey. At least it's affordable.

No kidding. And I especially didn't care for the way that Bruins officials forced people to buy tickets at gunpoint.
