Belichick's Comments on Adalius Thomas

He is the Patriots Player Rep.....and if the rumor has truth, stickin his nose into other teams' business.
Using this rumor to proceed further with more pure speculation, BB may just be delivering the message, worry about the Patriots, not about the Colts. Using an example from Red Sox recent history, the Sox had signed free agent Tony Clark a few years back and Clark was heavily involved in Union labor negotiations. Management let it be known after the fact that they felt Clark was distracted which led to a horrible season.

Tom Brady is the teams rep ... oh boy good thing he's getting back to the old Tom.

NEM, is that you?

Here's a clue for the clueless. Latin isn't Greek. Really, it isn't.

 ... classic. I don't think it's him. The one always mispelled words when he was angry.:p

Because challenging people to fights online is definitely 'adding something'

Jesus, you're obtuse. I was talking about my general posts - not retaliatory posts which, by there very nature, are free game. Besides, didn't you notice, I was just setting up a joke. Look at how all the girly girls come to eachother's defense. Joker's a big boy, he is more than capable of defending himself - unless there was something in my initial post that hit a little too close to home?

I think AD will be traded. Either to the Eagles - for Curtis or as a package with Galloway to the Ravens for picks.

Geez, the ultimate albatross - to be compared to NEM. You guys are hitting below the belt. Even Joker didn't go there, just accussing me of JO too much...

Not sure I should be posting, when it might just get lost in the flamefest, but anyways,...

AD's salary jumps from $1.9M this year to $4.9M next year. Despite the deferred bonus accrual to the cap, the big salary jump means he could be cut next year with approximately $500,000 cap savings (and $5M real savings)*. I expect the one-week benching might be all he needs to focus himself on applying himself to earning that $5M paycheck. I'm pretty confident that BB was well aware of those numbers when he left him off the roster this week. Hopefully, AD will be thinking of those figures, too, instead of worrying about the league revenue-sharing figures for 2010.

I also hope that he and that new fire under his butt get a chance to line up at end on pass rushing downs, because he has looked better than Burgess when I've been watching. Add a little extra motivation, and he could do some good things for us.

Unless he shows nothing the rest of the way, I think it unlikely he be shown the door before 2011, since no $500K LB is going to replace the production he is capable of giving. Talk about trading him is silliness, however, as the $8.8M cap hit wouldn't fit under the current cap.

* My own numbers based on Miguel's data.
