Pats-Bucs Tickets

I've just been e-mailed about the sale of tickets for the Pats-Bucs game. The ones on offer are (they claim) premium seats and will cost 120 or 140 GBP. What does anyone think (details below)?

General admission ticket prices will range from £30-95.

Fans who purchased Club Wembley seats in 2008 for the game between the San Diego Chargers and New Orleans Saints loved the experience.

“We had normal seats for the Dolphins vs Giants and went Club Wembley for Saints vs Chargers. We will be going for Club Wembley again; it’s easily worth the extra money – great view, less queues and comfortable seats.”

I'm getting my tickets through the ukpatriots but if there is enough demand I would be happy to try and get additional tickets for others here (no mark-up) through tomorrow's sale. Is there enough supply that anyone willing to pay these prices can get the tickets? I realize that the lower priced non-club level tickets will go on sale later.

The other way to phrase the question is: Were club tickets selling for above face value last year (on the secondary market [scalpers/brokers])? Not that I would mark it up for Pats fans but I also don't want to get stuck with extra tickets that I have to sell for a loss that I never needed to begin with.

I so want to go to this game, but I don't know whether or not I can yet. Can someone translate for me how much these tickets will cost in American dollars (sorry for my ignorance of exchange rate)? When are general seats expected to go on sale?

Any info you can provide is greatly appreciated!

I have read that NE is by a wide margin the favorite (excuse me, favourite) NFL team among Great Britain fans.

Flights round-trip Boston to London that weekend are not cheap. The lowest I found online was $635, leaving Saturday and returning Monday. Add $210 for a good game ticket (figuring a 50-percent markup via the exchange rate) plus hotel, and it's out of my league, unfortunately. The only way I could remotely consider going would be to combine it with business, or vacation. I suppose it would make more sense to save up for the Super Bowl.

I spent a year studying in Great Britain during college, and I can definitely corroborate this, at least from personal experience. There are also a fairly high number of Red Sox fans. That said, at least when I was there Yankees hats were still a popular fashion item, in much the same way that American d-bags sport Man U jerseys.

I think this game will have a great atmoshphere unlike the first 2 games played at Wembley. In those games, people came to the game to enjoy the experience and didn't really care who won so the atmosphere was neutral. I think because there will be a lot of Pats fans there, the rest of the crowd will support the Bucs, so there will be a sense of rivalry in the stands.

I'm not really sure I follow your logic here, unless you're saying that non-partisan attendees will decide to root for the Bucs for the simple reason that there are a lot of Pats fans there. I don't really see any reason that would be the case.

It must be me then. If I go to another Wembley game and there are more than, say, a few Giants fans there, I would naturally support the other team and actively encourage them. Must be an underdog thing. No worries, I could be completely wrong.

My impression is that they are really keen to unload these tickets at face value -- a considerable premium on other tickets. I don't know enough about the new Wembley to know how much better a 140 GBP seat will be than a 90 pound one. I think that what they are doing is trying to persuade us to jump in for these club seats so that we can be sure of getting a ticket.

My problem is: I'll be in the U.S. and committed for work. Much though I love the U.K., it seems kind of silly to make a special trip back to see the Pats when I could make the effort and get tickets for the Razor. On the other hand, it will be a fantastic occasion. Also complicating matters is that I am currently quite busy so won't be able to e-mail in at the relevant time tomorrow. My current thinking is that I might try to buy a couple of the high-priced tickets with the idea that someone I know will be bound to want them.

By the way, PatsDeb, Google has a useful feature. Just type in Convert 140 pounds to dollars and it will give you an answer -- currently $212.40.

I wouldn't spend that much on a ticket, but as it is my beloved Pats, I will spend that

Some of those tickets are end zone seats.

I'm not sure I'd trust them to know what good seats are.

The best seats are usually 20-30 rows up on the first level at midfield.

The last thing you want is a seat 3-5 rows up behind the players.

I went to the Fins v Giants game at Wembley last season and had the 2nd tier 70 pound seats. They were fine and no where near as high as what you get at Gillette. At the worst they were about the level of the Executive Boxes..

I have got that level again as for a family of four I don't think its worth paying another 100 + pounds for the next level up when they are better but not enough to spoil the enjoyment of the game.

My advice would be to save a bit extra for merch etc and get the 2nd grade seats but each to their own preference.

Wherever you sit at the new Wembley the view is pretty good...

Have the seats gone on sale, then? Or was that a privilege because you had seats last year? (Helpful post, thanks.)

I have been to both the Wembley games, the first one in Club Wembley at the 50 yard line middle tier - fantastic view, padded seats etc. This year very low behind the goal - tickets about half the price. I would suggest that you can get decent seats without taking the Club Wembley route. But if you want the luxury half way line experience and don't mind shelling out a few extra bucks, Club Wembley is a good experience.

Also, for the 2007 game getting tickets was very difficult. Massive demand, sold out signs up very quickly, it was a case of beg, borrow, steal. This year despite a more attractive fixture there were tickets available at face value from official sources, right up to the last minute.

Bearing in mind the economic situation here and the shut down on consumer spending I would think tickets will be reasonably easy to come by, althoug I think the Pats will be a bigger draw here than the Chargers/Saints were.

So don't be bullied into thinking you have to buy Club Wembley now.

It's called being British. We see a giant and say f*ck you, I'll support the other team. Apart from Pats fans of course. Ciara's old fella has it right I think, the non Patriots will see the pats fans and naturally cheer for Tampa to oppose us.

I got 2 tickets in section 232. I tried to buy just after 10 am (UK time) and nothing better was available.

How did you guys were able to get 228 section?
