Law signs with Jets

================================================

In 05 Law led the league in INTs and I believe made the Pro Bowl, he also led the Jets with the most penalties, several of which lost the Jets games.

He also led the league in Pass interference penalties. Its why the Jests cut him.

IDaBruinz - you ticked off Law and he went to the Jets. If this costs us the game, you will get the goat of the week award.:)

And if it costs the Jests the game then I'll still get the G.O.A.T for the week award...

And three years later you're glad to have him back? Sounds like the interceptions and penalties canceled each other out. What is Tubby Ratfink thinking?

=====================================================

I never said I was glad to have him back. Surprised and not sure what to think.

I guess I am happy to have him on the team, he is as good as Poteat or Coleman, or 15 yard cushion Barret.

More depth, more better.

I thought he would of wanted to retire and go into the Hall as a Pat, but I guess he figures the Jets have more of a chance of going deep in the play offs, who knows.:)

I heard it is a one year deal.

He probably won't even pass his physical

I like the quote:

“This is going to be different playing Thursday night against the Patriots, matching up against my former team and the players I’m used to practicing against.”

He played for the Jets in 2005. How much of the offense a cornerback actually cares about was here in 2004? Brady, and he's out. A couple of lineman. In short, nobody relevant to how he will play defense.

He also said "I know they’re going to throw at me, but I welcome the challenge — bring it. I got the tricks for you." Time to give him the Duane Starks treatment. I expect his "tricks" will be talking to the receiving corps, telling them they are under-appreciated, and telling them to demand more money as is necessary to "feed their families." We may lose Moss and Welker to contract disputes after this game. Oh, the humanity!

Yeah, I know. That was the first thing I noticed. The only active offensive players left from 2004 when Law was last here are Watson, Faulk, Light, Koppen, Neal, Hochstein, and Yates.

I don't thinks so.

Laws 2nd year on his 3-5 year deal was way overpriced, he got cut for sallary cap issues, every one understood it was a one year deal, and he followed Herm to KC. Shows Herm liked his performance.

I don't mind you too much Gunny, but please.... Ty Law can't even carry Hank's bongos at this stage of the game. (I know there's former members of the Poteat bandwagon still around... back me up bongo players!!)

I like Poteat alright, but the guy was a FA till about week 4, and all he gets is vet min., if he was very good BB would of sighned him, right,

And I like you just fine also, no homo.

The big insult here is 'homer' not homo. Get with the freakin program Jetsfan!

If the Jets need Law for a big emotional lift for this game, they're in deep trouble. Let's wait and see if Ty looks like he ate Mo Vaughn.

Fixed it for you :D

What I dont understand is why they are putting him out there in 3 days.....staying fit and being in football shape are two totally different things. Mangina has enough DBs and safeties...they DONT need a man, who despite knowing the systems doesnt know it as well as the guys they have now, to go out there and probably get bombed on.....

I smell an Anthony Smith style humiliation brewing on thursday.....

I tells me they are gonna try to jam moss with law with safety help over the top.

Im happy the pats didn't sign him, cause then we'd look like the team that looks desperate. Of course we need all the help in CB position, but like Coach says "if he is not on the roster, that means we dont think he's got what it takes to be in it" or somethin like that. Law or no Law , we win this one. Especially at home!!! GO PATS!!!!!

I will add that I have no idea if Law can still contribute.

The only downside is the Jets will have to cut someone that is already contributing.

Actually, they probably offered him slightly more $$, and he knows the Jets won't go deep into the playoffs (unlike the Pats, who Law knows can always surprise you), so he signed with the Jets - more $$ for less work :0

With your guidance I hope to some day earn the title of GunnailsPisah.

No homer.

Knowing Laws past I am forced to agree.

It's not about that though. It's more about the psycology of that move-it's totally In Your Face. LOL BOR is right; the chess match continues. Nevermind the fact that's a position we could use a Ty F*n Law right about now.

Mea Culpa:p

No, the Patriots are playing chess, and the Jests are playing checkers. Fredo is going to have to cut some productive member from his team in order to sign Law. Why? People talk about New England being long in the tooth, but the Jests are the ones bringing in Favre & Law, hanging their hopes on two falling stars, and hoping that Law can make enough plays to counter the INT's that Favre throws.

This smacks of desperation, like Fredo going to Las Vegas and getting a bunch of show girls and free markers to impress Michael with.

Fredo better hope this move pays off in spades, because if it doesn't, the front office is going to take him fishing.

I just don't understand why the Patriots did not do more to get him or D. Hall.
Ty Law can play both safety and ornerback , 2 areas of critical need for the Patriots.

Looks like the Patriots FO was outmaneuvered, unless they truly believe he sucks and is done

Seems like this will give the JETS a big emotional lift

I'm interested in hearing how you think the Patriots were "out maneuvered" regarding the Ty Law deal. The guy has been available for nearly a year. If they wanted him, they'd have him.

Hall is in a different category - #1 given his recent issues and reports on him that the guy might not be well balanced, looking to pick fights with his former team etc... it wouldn't be a surprise if we just plain passed on him - or if he decided the Pats well disciplined team wasn't the place for him.

I will add that I have no idea if Law can still contribute.

The only downside is the Jets will have to cut someone that is already contributing.
Look, I am sure he will help Bret Favre, who will have a buddy to go to AARP meetings with.
