I think he's doing a decent job, despite the fact that he is Chris Rose. I can't stand the Best Damn Sports Show Period.

He is pathetic end of story.

I think he's been fine...

Chris Rose is made of GLASS. He SUCKS.

(he's actually not that bad)

Not bad. If not for the stigma of the annoying Best Damn show, I'd say he's an announcer I prefer over most.

I thought he was pretty decent. Anything beats the NFL network crew.

I thought he was pretty good, I really like his colleague, JC Pearson.

I loved it when early in the fourth he decided that Bulger was having a great game...based on total yardage and not his absolute loss of nerve and poise under pressure...

Anything's better than the Monday Night Crew.

I gave up on Field Pass, it's too crappy.

I thought they weren't bad at all. Not like the crew that did the Pats/Miami game.. God, they were horrible.

I don't watch BDSSP so I didn't have a bias against the guy while watching.

Didn't bother me at all, and that's not a given with some commentators now in days.

When he kept calling Hobbs the most explosive and best returner in the NFL, I kept laughing. Hobbs is very good but not one of the best. He has a great average.

Chris Rose was excellent today. I wish he'd call more Patriots games, but he's stuck on the NFC network. He was very even-handed in his play by play.

I was impressed.

I can't stomach BDSSP at all; what a waste of time it is, and I love sports more than I should (time-wise). But Rose deserves some props for today's game. He was fluid, knew player's names and numbers very well (this may seem like a small thing but the bigshot announcers get away with mistaken IDs all the time), always mentioned down and distance and location on the field (another shortcoming of soooo many on TV), stayed with the flow of the game, gave his solid partner time to talk w/o talking over him, and clearly had done some homework. yeah, the Hobbs thing was a bit off, but it's nitpicking - Hobbs is leading the NFL in KO return average, so he must be pretty good, right?

The problem was that I kept having the instant reflex to change the channel when I heard that BDSSP voice! He did a good job but it's going to take some time to get away from that nasty association for me.

I was pleasantly surprised. I doubt anyone can go through a game without a few howlers, but this was decent.

There were a few times they showed blocking schemes; showed Moss not making a block; showed the DB not looking for the ball. Maybe not the most subtle points, but useful for a mass audience.

On production, however, there were several plays where I thought a replay was in order. One example: one play had StL guys all saying no catch on a low pass, but no replay.

I agree with you. I thought he was pretty good overall. I was in and out doing yard work, so I didn't see everything, but for what I did see he was fine. I TIVO'd it and can check later.

I beleive he is "one of the best". He's a great returner.

I don't know. I thought the broadcast team was horrible today. They had no clue where the first down marker was all game. How many times did the offense get a yard or two past the first down marker and they say "I don't think he got it" or the other way around? I lost count. I thought the analysis was very hit or miss. They harped the offenses were playing very well, but defenses weren't showing up even after the Pats forced the Rams to punt 3 times in a row in the second and third quarters.

They did do some good breakdowns of individual plays like the onside kick, but then they were masters of the obvious for stretches of the game.

They weren't the worst team out there, but I didn't really care for them.

I think Cris Rose did a good job today, but he was one of the idiots who was dumping on BB last season about "camergate/running up the score" on the BDSSP.

I had the same reaction. He's a complete tool on that show, so I was surprised that he didn't totally suck as an announcer.
