Mike Reiss of the Boston Globe writes the Chiefs will face the pats with only three receivers for Sunday’s game against the Patriots: Dwayne Bowe, Devard Darling, and Jeff Webb.

Sounds like the Pats will get a pretty good dosage of tight end, running game , and screens to backs today.

I guess there not expecting to need to throw the ball at the end of the game.

Maybe they will sign Chad Jackson... Wouldn't that be something?

After watching mediocre QB's like Kyle Boller, Eli Manning and most recently David Carr tear up the Pats secondary, this doesn't bring me much comfort.

The bend but don't break defense gives up way too many yards for my liking....

I'm guessing if they wanted to go to a 4 WR look, they could opt to have a RB out there (like we sometimes have done with Faulk) or split Gonzalez to a WR position.

Haha, this morning? ;)

Gonzalez is still essentially a wide receiver, and the Chiefs are predominantly a running team. I don't think this is that big a deal unless Bowe goes down with an injury or something.

I think the Ravens, Eagles, and Giants had a decent corp of WRs last year though, as well as running backs who are great in the passing game. The Chiefs have no one after Bowe and Johnson is a great back but not as dangerous on screens or dump offs. I don't think this situation will be quite like those last year.

Not to mention the Chiefs defense shouldn't be as successful as those teams' were, which means Croyle won't be able to play it safe the whole game like Boller, Feeley, and Manning could.

Balldinger and Wilcots didn't mention the Chiefs offense, but did say that there is nothing their D can do to stop the Pats offense.

What the hell are they talking about? I haven't even seen our Offense get started yet. Look, I think that we will win this game, but I don't have rose colored glasses on. The lack of fundamental execution during the preseason still bothers me. Until I see consistent Execution out of our Offensive Line, I'm not taking anything for granted. I won't feel comfortable until I see those guys block consistently for our running backs and protect Brady like he is one of their children.

As long as they have a healthy Bowe I doubt their too concerned. All their other receivers suck.

That was an awesome pre-game tirade! If Marshall Faulk said that there would be an instant ten hate threads here. ;)
