Re: Isn't it all just so aggravating?
Yup you make PERFECT sense.
Capers was hired in 08, a year after "camera-gate", when the Pats had already been "punished" for that BS, and there was no chance BB wouldn't be the HC, barring illness. Oh yeah and the whole coordinators thing, I'm...
Same basically terminology and concepts, although I would agree the offense does look a little different.
New WRs have to learn a whole new language/concepts. Many WRs have said our offense is significantly more complex than most around the league.
Branch learning a new play is like learning...
The key with Branch is whether he can play outside. He is redundant with Welker, Edelman, and even Hernandez as a slot-only guy. If he can play outside-like he did in 03-05-then this works.
And stop whining about the compensation. We got a 4th rounder for Maroney. We traded a 4th rounder for...
In all seriousness, trade Mankins away for a 2nd or a 3rd and move on. We are not going to sign him, and Connolly has been solid.
Save the money, gain another pick, and use their substantial amount of assets to upgrade their talent in the offseason where more talent is available. I don't...
I'd lean more towards two other first round projected WRs-Julio Jones from Alabama and Michael Floyd from Notre Dame. Both are higher character guys than Green. Jones would likely get a good recommendation from BB's old pal Nick Saban. Floyd played two seasons in Charlie Weis' scheme.
Re: SMY Reporting Crable to the 53man Roster
My excitement about Crable comes from 3 places
1. He is a physical freak at 6'5 250 lbs who in college showed he could play in coverage and made something like 23 TOFL. Hard to find guys who can and have done both at the 3-4 olb spot.
2. He fills...
FYI, Cunningham will be in the mix at OLB, not DL. He may play down in sub situations, if he is healthy.
OFFENSE:
Offensively, the team will mostly be in 3WR/1TE/1RB & 2WR/2TE/1RB sets, especially with Edelman not healthy.
I think Taylor, Maroney, and Morris will split the 1st/2nd...
Hoyer reminds me of Brad Johnson.
He doesn't have a great arm or athleticism, but he is accurate, moves well in the pocket, makes good decisions, and is a solid leader.
Will he consistently make the necessary tough throws into heavy coverage to convert on 3rd and 12 that the great QBs...
Went to training camp practice today and made a point of watching Brace in 11-on-11s. I thought he actually looked pretty good, especially considering it was his first practice of the summer.
He lined up at LE with the 2nd unit, mostly across from Mark Levoir at RT. He looked like he...
The bad
-OLB Ricky Sapp: Heard he may get cut in Philly (worth a practice squad/53-man shot with Pats?). If he stinks, its probably because of my yearly obsession with finding BB's prototypical pass rusher, health/production be damned.
-ILB Donald Butler: Out for year w/ knee(?) in San Diego...
Pryor was very impressive last year when the Patriots went to sub packages and 4-3 fronts. The problem with him seeing an increased role, such as RDE in the base 3-4, is that he is 6'1 310 lbs, and lacks the length to play DE and the girth to play NT.
I would guess that when the Pats drafted...
