I haven't been around for a while so I haven't exactly followed this. But how did the referees not notice this while in game? These guys handle thousands of balls every year, I'm sure if something was up there would have noticed right away. Sounds like BS to me and the balls were fine.

I don't think it's the design of the plays that are dangerous for the receivers. I think Manning just doesn't throw hard enough so the receivers don't have that extra split second to protect themselves after the catch. Welker was used to 120 mph lasers from Brady and he had time to go down...
