    OT - 2nd hardest sport to coach/manage

Coach both baseball and basketball the HS level. Basketball is definitely more difficult. Have to sub guys. Your defensive/offense philosophy is vital. With only 5 guys it's crucial to exploit match-ups and not let your worse match-up get exposed. Pretty non-stop action. Baseball is basically...

What's your least favorite transaction of the BB era?

Don't know if it's been said yet, but Adalius Thomas for me. I had such high hopes for him and what he would do for the 3-4 defense we were running at the time, and he was just so bad. Plus they paid him all that money.

New FieldTurf Surface Installed at Gillette Stadium

New turf and Brady on the Madden cover. I'm concerned.

OT: NFL denies Josh Gordon reinstatement

Seems to me like with falling TV ratings, you'd want as much talent in the league as possible. Gordon would've been probably the only reason to watch the Browns last year.

Florio: Browns laying foundation for trade down (Garrett not their sure #1)

One thing that people fail to mention with any Jimmy G trade is the fact that you can take a QB with one of those picks and reset the FA clock. Now, they may not have the talent that Jimmy has, but with a few years in the system until Brady moves on, it's a move that could pay dividends in the...

    Pats still interested in Sherman

I'd be ok with this. Really knocks them all down.

The other trade chip no one wants to talk about....Macolm Butler, how much is he worth in a trade?

Don't really get this thinking. It was either Gilmore or Ryan. What's the difference to him? Should've just taken the extension and been a very rich man with 2 Super Bowl rings. Instead, he's wildly overplaying his hand with little negotiating power. I don't want to say I feel bad for him, but...

Here's the most compelling reason NOT to trade Jimmy G. for high picks

Is 1-2 years of happy JAG and him potentially not throwing a meaningful pass greater than drafting a QB(potentially with a high pick) and being able to fill another couple needs?

Here's the most compelling reason NOT to trade Jimmy G. for high picks

What's stopping them from taking a QB? Reset the clock on the rookie deal on a QB that you think is similar. Sure, the time in the system is an issue, but is that worth multiple extra picks? I would think so.

Unless the Patriots have other assets to trade, the Cooks deal has sealed Garoppolo's fate

Couple things to note: 1. There's nothing preventing NE from taking a QB with one of these picks. If they get multiple 1's, they could take a guy this year or next. Remember, JAG was a 2nd round pick. If they can find a similar player, they can reset the clock on developing a back-up. 2...

Patriots trade for WR Brandin Cooks (NO BUTLER INVOLVED). Gave up 1st & 3rd rounder for Cooks + 4th

I can't find the article right now, but coming out of the draft there was an article referencing a coach at Oregon St. talking about his work ethic. Basically, the coach was walking around campus and came across Cooks drenched in sweating, working on quickness and agility drills on a sand volley...

Patriots trade for WR Brandin Cooks (NO BUTLER INVOLVED). Gave up 1st & 3rd rounder for Cooks + 4th

Think the price was a little high, but have to think Jimmy G is on the way out. Offensive is definitely going to be explosive. Would like to find some size on the outside though. Not much left to do on offense. Probably just a RB.

    2017 Draft Prospect Thread

I could see him dropping a bit with injury concerns. He's one of the best safety's I've ever seen, and he's only been playing for one year. I'd be all over this kid with Cleveland's pick.

Bears are now expressing interest in trade for Jimmy G

A bidding war is definitely interesting. To me, the best pick available is probably #12. Knowing how this team operates, #3 is probably too high to be of serious interest, unless there's a trade down scenario. Could potentially get Hooker(who I love) and would be in play for one of the top RBs...

Browns interested in trade for Garoppolo

I think #12 is a good value for both teams. NE doesn't need the #1 pick. They'd just be looking to trade down anyways. For Cleveland, you can still get the best non-QB in the draft(likely Garrett) and then get your future starting QB. What else surrounds that remains to be seen. Is it a 2nd? a...
