    Happy 4th of July

I'm not applying 21st century values at all to 18th century men. I'm just saying that they didn't declare independence because they wanted freedom for everyone. I was very clear in my original statement. They declared independence because they wanted their individual state to be free from...

    Happy 4th of July

Actually I wouldn't be surprised at all because I'm an amateur historian. As to Jefferson, ask Sally Hemings if she had a choice to say no to Jefferson's "advances". So what I said stands....we still had slavery after July 2nd, 1776. Women still could not vote. Non-christians were denied many...

    Happy 4th of July

Technically (and correctly) you slackers are all celebrating "Independence" Day two days late. July 4th would more correctly be called "Declaration of Independence" Day. "July 2, 1776 is the day that the Continental Congress actually voted for independence. John Adams, in his writings, even...

    Defensive End Disappointment

First off, I did give evidence but my evidence was rejected. Fine. A point was then made that pressures and hurries were more important. I said "fine"...show me how this relates to their performance and in comparison to something else. I'm not responsible for making someone else's point. So...

    Defensive End Disappointment

So what is this in relation to for comparison?

    Defensive End Disappointment

I'm willing to accept that I'm wrong if someone can provide some actual criteria to demonstrate that the DEs have been productive. Some have said that pressures or hurries are a good indicator...fair enough. Show me the hurries and pressures and how they compare to some other time/team/etc and I...

    Defensive End Disappointment

It looks like we have a total of (7) players that play Defensive End for our team and the results so far have been very disappointing for me. I thought it would be a "team strength" but it seems to be, once again, a team weakness. Including recently acquired John Simon (who was the team's best...

OT: Looking for suggestions for our trip to Boston

If you want to believe that Boston is the "greatest city in America" go for it. Is it possible to be right yet be in so vast a minority? Of course, it is possible. Although most of America and pretty much the entire planet would disagree with you, I'm sure you are right and the vast, vast, VAST...

OT: Looking for suggestions for our trip to Boston

Have I been to Boston? Um, like 2 days a week and I wish it was zero. And historical sites in NYC.....have you been to NYC? List of National Historic Landmarks in New York City - Wikipedia And if people on the streets is stressful than I guess a city like Portland Maine is the "greatest city...

OT: Looking for suggestions for our trip to Boston

RI Patriots fan.....yes, I'm from Rhode Island. The point being made wasn't that Boston is "right up there". The poster in question stated that Boston was "arguably America's greatest city". Boston is not America's greatest city and no one outside of Mass would think otherwise.

OT: Looking for suggestions for our trip to Boston

Well thank goodness there are no Boston snobs lol. God's country????? You have been entertaining...thank you. :)

OT: Looking for suggestions for our trip to Boston

NY is stressful?!?!?!?! Because of traffic? Have you ever been on I-93 during rush hour or, God forbid, if a flake of snow makes it to the ground? How about NYC being the most exciting city on the planet? How about NYC having more to do in one square mile than the entire city Boston? And...

OT: Looking for suggestions for our trip to Boston

This article lists NYC as the number 1 city and Boston as number 9. Thanks for providing evidence to prove my point.

OT: Looking for suggestions for our trip to Boston

Then next time you travel you might try opening your eyes or taking off your Bahhston rose colored glasses because there is no way that Boston can even remotely rival NYC. NYC is a true world class city. Boston is a quaint town compared to NYC.
