Schefter: Pats to sign Kendall Simmons

Simmons took many training camp snaps at C when he was with the Steelers so yes he can play the position. But I don't recall him ever doing it in a game.

It's a secret: Steelers cut players but won't reveal who

honestly, i wouldn't really care and wouldn't devote an entire thread to it. sure, belichick would probably get the double standard treatment because he is characterized as an ultra-competitive, win-at-all-costs guy. But I don't think his internal motivation would be any different from Tomlin's...

Interesting non-Pats cuts thread (merged X2)

Bruce Davis has the physical tools but for some reason he is Gholston-like on the field. Doesn't play special teams well, has poor instincts, got tooled several times in the preseason by 2nd and 3rd teamers. He is not better than any of the backup OLBs you have, I think.

It's a secret: Steelers cut players but won't reveal who

irony is funny. by the way the native city of the poster is listed under the poster's name. keep working towards that GED.

It's a secret: Steelers cut players but won't reveal who

Wow, I didn't think you were this much of a simpleton, so let me explain. Read twice if you need to. The cuts are already public. See, the media in Pittsburgh tends to follow the Steelers quite closely, especially as players leave the facility. So all the names of the cuts have been posted in...

It's a secret: Steelers cut players but won't reveal who

actually they're doing the cut players a favor, genius. their agents can start making calls before the deadline. hilarious that a pats fan would criticize another organization for how they treat their players.

Steve Sabol says Holmes catch is best in NFL History

What Sabol actually claimed was that it was the greatest *game-winning TD catch* in NFL history. A little soon to rank these things - let's see if it acquires the same timeless quality of the Immaculate Reception, or The Catch by Dwight Clark. You're right the throw by Ben was as good if not...

Comparing Tom Brady & Ben Roethlisberger - THE FIRST 5 YEARS

The past three years the Steelers have been close to 50-50 run pass, which is much different than Ben's first two years at QB. So ignoring his 2007 stats where he threw for 32 TDs, 11 INTs with a 65.3% completion rate and 104.1 rating, just because he made 60 fewer attempts that year, is...

Comparing Tom Brady & Ben Roethlisberger - THE FIRST 5 YEARS

No but objective football analysis is obviously a problem for you. Your gerrymandering of statistics to prove a weak-ass point about a QB you obviously dislike, when the majority of Pats fans in this thread can give Ben credit for what he's done, is plain laughable.

Comparing Tom Brady & Ben Roethlisberger - THE FIRST 5 YEARS

Did you black out the entire 2007 season because of how it ended for the Pats? 32 TDs / 11 INT / 104.1 rating

Super Bowl Appearances/Wins by team -Patriots look good

The Jets are missing from the OP's list (Super Bowl III), but they are the sixth team to have not appeared in a super bowl since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger. Kind of a trick question.
  12. Q

Cardinals nearly beat Steelers/refs, but can only blame themselves

Well, that picture doesn't tell you anything - you should re-watch the video and freeze-frame it. Holmes stretched to catch the ball with his body at about a 60 degree angle to the ground. This picture is several frames after the catch was made, as evidenced by the fact the ball is already...
  13. Q

Larry Foote could be a free agent

Not sure you guys really want Foote - athletically he is very average, not fleet of foot (pun intended), and certainly the weaker of the 4 Steeler LBs (5 if you count Timmons as a nickel LB) against both run and pass. But he is very disciplined and rarely out of place, so that might be a good...

Pittsburgh Trolls, come here to get your Crow pie.

I wasn't predicting a Steelers victory, but I thought the game would be closer than it was. That was a resounding statement game by the Pats, multiple exclamation points included. The 1st half gave me some hope, both teams played fairly evenly. But the Pats 2nd half playcalling, Brady...
