NFL.com news: Belichick has been taping since 2000, Goodell tells Specter
Here is a link that shows Goodell was aware the Pats were taping since 2000 when he dished out his fines and took the draft pick.
We faced Dean Pees and Randy Moss this year with little effect on the outcome. Do we expect Woodhead to tell us everything about the Jets offense? There is so much player movement that I don't think this makes much of a difference, unless you pick up a guy that was released after the game plan...
I'm not sure what the big deal is. I thought it was widely accepted that BB and the Pats taped defensive signals over the years and used them after the fact in preparation of future games. I don't think this changes anything. I can't imagine people are trying to say that the Pats made a...
Re: Brady Approved Moss Deal
I know that we shouldn't read much into body language, even though we've done it plenty with Brady in the past, but he seemed pretty positive in his interview on patriots.com. He didn't seem that upset or suprised by it so it wouldn't really suprise me if he knew...
The fact that they called him has leaked out probably means they aren't going to draft him anymore. They probably won't appreciate that given how they like to keep things quite. I would like Wooten or Sapp in the 4th though, hopefully they feel the same way and move up to grab one of them.
Re: 5 weeks into FA season, PATS approach still makes no sense
To put Cromarties acquisition in perspective, here's Rex Ryan's comments from last year when they acquired Lito Sheppard:
"He's a great athlete with top-end speed that we look for to play that position," Ryan said of Sheppard...
Re: 5 weeks into FA season, PATS approach still makes no sense
Why is everyone so enamored with the Jets offseason - they traded for a cornerback that hasn't done anything in this league in a couple of years - could he peform this year, sure, but I'm sure if the Pats had acquired him...
Re: Patriots release Chris Baker
Reiss pointed out that they don't have a TE Coach right now either so maybe BB has simply decided to forego the TE position - I'm hoping the rumor for Olsen is true but I can't really think of any other TE's that are available and I don't want to rely on 2 rookies.
I purposely scheduled friday as a travel day since I have a 10 hour drive that I needed to make sometime in the next few days - figured 10 hours would fly by listening to all the NFL news on Sirius - even if it's not Pats related it should be an interesting day.
I don't think the Pats will...
Given that Baker is the only real TE on the team right now I just feel like the Pats are going to use one of their first 4 picks on a TE anyway so I have no problem if they send a 2nd round pick (hopefully our last one) to Chicago for Olsen.
Given that the Pats front office will be heading to Indy on Wednesday for the combine, I'm not sure what the big deal is - Vince isn't the only thing that needs to be taken care of right now - all they've done is extend their negotiating window. It doesn't really matter if they sign a long term...
If they think the need another quality inside linebacker I'd rather they just draft someone like McClain or Spikes - I don't think its worth paying that much for an ILB. Draft one and use that money to get a top end pass rusher.
If he's just having his shoulder scoped, I don't think that's going to prevent the Pats from going after him if they want him. BB's obviously a big fan of Taylors and I don't think he's going to be to worried if he can't attend OTAs. He would still be ready by the time training camp rolls...
