How popular is hockey in Boston? Would someone on the street know who Bergeron was. Pastrnak?
As for the series, Bruins should win. They got the better D and goalie. Toronto does have more explosive forwards.
I can flip this around and ask: how many people actually thought Mahomes would be a top 5 QB of all time when drafted? Were there any articles or analysis indicating he would be a GOAT candidate?
If someone said in April 2000 that Tom Brady would be the next Montana, he/she would be laughed out...
If Mayo's intent was to take a jab at Bill, well, he should keep his mouth shut.
Bill gave him a chance as a player and coach. Bill won 6 SB titles. He is widely recognized as one of the best coaches in NFL history.
I don't buy this.
I'd be stunned if they trade back short of getting the biggest draft steal in NFL history.
If Minnesota only wants to give up two first rounders instead of one...cool. All they need to do is add Jefferson to the deal. Otherwise, it should be a no go!!
And even the lesser QB's who won (Flacco & Foles) were not mediocre during the postseason. They played incredible.
I'm seeing two QB's (Mahomes/Brady) who were unquestionably elite during the 7 SB wins combined. Guys who can not only be clutch. But make others around them better.
Manning was...
Ironically enough, Minnesota still ended up with the guy they wanted after not getting the pick in time.
Bolded continues to get overlooked. I can't for the life of me, especially in the AFC, see why the idea of passing up a franchise QB in top three is a good idea.
It's not enough imo.
Minnesota will be a mid team who isn't drafting in top ten without injuries everywhere. As Ivan has stated, what's the point of collecting picks to pick a QB and move up. When...you can get one for free. To me, you need a legit roster player in a potential deal too...
Wolf probably doesn't last long if the following occurs:
Trade down from three and take McCarthy. McCarthy is a bust and Maye/Daniels are stars after being picked at three.
Or...the above scenario happens except they pick a tackle instead of McCarthy.
The only possible way he can offset...
A) Not enough coming from Minnesota
B) They come out of this with only a tackle?
I'm going to say there is zero chance both these things occur. Minnesota would need to do another first & Jefferson. It's steep. But it better be steep if you want to move up.
Every pick is a risk.
But if you don't pick a franchise QB now, when will you get the opportunity? The next class is dreadful. Do you want to risk having to move up, while relinquishing key assets, for a lesser/same guy in a few years.
I don’t think going with the "Tom Brady was drafted in the...
I'd be stunned if Maye/Daniels are not a Patriot by the end of draft night.
I think everything from the front office is a smoke screen. And they probably have McCarthy rated below Maye/Daniels.
I also have to wonder if Minnesota, maybe others, are going to try to take advantage of an...
This guy projects to likely be a meh QB in the NFL.
I don't think too many teams will care about not choosing him.
FTR, I don't believe NFL is nearing NBA levels of player having all the say.
