Idle thoughts - the preseason CONTINUUUUUUUUUUES

But what if that IS the plan? Give teams film all season to make defenses over commit to the run when they see Michel in the backfield and during critical drives late in the season or in the post season, break out a play action for a 30 yard gain.

are we like the Final Boss?

Eh, I see Roethlisberger as Bowser. Seems like a big tough guy, but step on his tail and he'll cry about it. Plus he can't seem to help himself around pretty princesses.. ;)

Idle Thoughts: the getting what you expected edition

I believe the new rule is 2 personal fouls is an automatic ejection. The refs still have the option to eject anyone at any time regardless of personal fouls. During live action, the announcers mentioned something about a scuffle right at the end of the play. Normal pushing and shoving after a...

Blandino taking personal control of post-season officiating

I didn't read through this thread so I don't know if this has been brought up, but just read this today on ESPN. Blandino: Beckham should have been ejected

Refs blow call by overturning White's reception.

I believe it's a different play. It was a 20-30 yard pass I think and the ball ended up around the 10 yard line when the Patriots player jumped on it.

Refs blow call by overturning White's reception.

Overall, I feel like this was a "better" officiated game for us. Given the point of emphasis memo the refs have been given (i.e. for questionable calls, side against the Patriots) I was expecting more flags. I expected a personal foul on the Collins suplex. I think it was a clean hard football...

PP's Rich Hill claims Bills used Brady's protection calls against him

I thought it was the 1st drive, if not the very 1st play.

Running clock on final play was the incorrect call (merged)

I remember a commentator talking specifically about running out of bounds either yesterday or on Sunday. Something to the effect of "So and so is a really smart player because he runs out of bounds going towards the opponents end zone to stop the clock. So many other players run backwards while...

The blown whistle play might not have been a huge gain

They were blowing the whistle early all night. Anyone else notice during one of Allen's punt? The ball was still rolling when they blew the whistle and then marked the ball a yard short of where the ball eventually stopped. There was at least another play where in my head I was like "wow that...

The Beckham Catch that was not -and a trip back in time

I knew it should be reversed but I was doubting it would be, since the refs talked to each other before signaling the TD and given their track record on screwing up obvious calls even after a review. Wouldn't have been a killer though since it would've just meant Brady had more time to drive for...
