My take on this is that he thought he had another down while warming up on the sideline, delaying his getting on the field until he realized it was 4th down and he had to get out there. But as you say, they had a time out to spare and coulda used it. Coulda, woulda, shoulda.

I actually flew in one as a teenager. My father was an Air Force officer and we flew space-A to Europe. They have a passenger cabin hanging from the roof of the plane; there are always seats, just a question of whether they have space for luggage.
