Where do you stand on Dante Fowler Jr.?

Reminds me of Sharrif Floyd in the 2013 draft, in that I'd be thrilled to draft him with our 1st rd pick, but would not entertain drafting him in the 5-10 range where he has been slated by the draft cognoscenti. I'm not too worried about him vs the run, assuming he can be a force vs the pass...

NFL.Com Grades And Scouting Reports Are In (Incomplete)

I'm not convinced of this conventional wisdom that La'El Collins can't play left tackle in the pros.

    2015 Draft Prospect Thread

Nice find. He carries 305 lbs extremely well if that's an accurate measurement. Need to see more.

    2015 Draft Prospect Thread

I don't see the appeal in Shelton as a 1st or 2nd round pick right now. He doesn't look that athletic to me. Functional for effective NT play but I don't see Explosiveness with a capital E. Right off the bat I think I'm looking at a 2-down player. And for a guy who projects to two gap he...

"Backdraft to the Future!": Misguided Meanderings of a Motley Masochistic Mastermind

Thanks man. I don't read the PatsFans forum, but I find myself coming back every year for the annual discussion of Grizzlies and HalfBacks, queens on chessboards, the leading edge of the NFL strategy, etc. Valles hasn't looked natural to me going around the edge, when I was watching the UVA...

"Backdraft to the Future!": Misguided Meanderings of a Motley Masochistic Mastermind

As for Max Valles - do you really prefer him to Harold, or is that after taking availability into account? I'm not sure what his NFL position is, reminds me of Buchanan in terms of being a lanky pursuit player. Those guys are heavily scheme dependent IMO

"Backdraft to the Future!": Misguided Meanderings of a Motley Masochistic Mastermind

Smelter is a HUGE sleeper. Big enough to win balls, quick enough to create separation, fast enough to get by people, shifty enough to get YAC, catches the ball clean. He reminds me of Boldin a bit. The sleeker version. If he were healthy/playing for a team that actually throws the ball he'd be...

    Celsius Benjamin is better anyway.

    My Blueprint for the Defense

Gotcha. I agree that the college level is catching up. It reminds me of the way the 3-4 OLB was impossible to find at the college level in the past, but now everyone plays their edge guys standing up because of the spread. DeVonte Holloman was a full time spur in college. That's why I wanted...

    My Blueprint for the Defense

Don't forget Shaq Thompson of Washington. 6'2" 225#, converted to LB from S in college and hits like a truck.

    My Top 50 big board

Here's a top 32 (i.e. first round) worth of guys I just spitballed. Obviously there is much film to watch. But it does say plenty about how I feel about various prospects. 1. JaDaveon Clowney 2. Greg Robinson 3. Teddy Bridgewater 4. Aaron Donald 5. Khalil Mack 6. Sammy Watkins 7. Taylor...

    Shazier vs. Mosley

    Roman Harper. ...Point taken.

    Shazier vs. Mosley

Oh and since this is a Patriots fan site I better plug the 6.75 3-cone.

    Shazier vs. Mosley

He's got bloodlines. Brother is Melvin Bullitt. Dad was an Aggie. He's the black sheep - went to Texas Tech instead. His tape is uneven but the upside is tangible. Tech put him in coverage on Jalen Saunders a few snaps. Obviously he got beat but that says a lot to me. He got used as something...
