No. Simmons tweeted something an hour earlier than the Glazer retweet, and subsequently removed the tweet. He claimed he was trying to direct message someone on twitter to see if there was any truth in a series of follow-up tweets. Glazer reported it after.

I hope that the reports are incorrect, but mostly because Simmons would look foolish. "Duhh I accidentally mass-tweeted it." Yeh, ok buddy. Although, if it does happen, we can all look forward to a 5,000 word "Patriots fans are exactly like Kelly from 90210" column.
