The smart move would be to give Mayo the title of DC next season as he could easily get that role on the open market.
Keeping Mayo gives the D momentum which has been a bright spot this season. Bill's son can continue to learn and gain more experience and he could become the DC in the near...
Wynn has been called for so many penalties this season I can't imagine another team is going to trade for him and give the Patriots a draft pick of any relevance. So keep Wynn in case our we might get these young players play-off experience. Wynn will be gone in the summer to another team on a...
Rich Eisen speculated the sacking happened this early in the season to secure Sean Payton. I suppose if Carolina does end up with the number one overall (or at least top 3) pick then Payton can select his QB and ride with him for the future. Question is would Payton want to be back in the NFC...
Flowers played well his first year in Detroit. He recorded seven sacks that year which is the number of sacks he averaged per season in NE. Injuries got him the next two years ending up on IR both times. His contract was a massive overpay by the Lions but what are NFL players meant to do - tell...
Matt Pratricia signed him Flowers in Detroit and Trey earned more than $50 million guaranteed in those years away from the Patriots. I know he's had a series of injuries but if he can stay healthy he can really contribute to our D-Line and given his lack of availability for the Lions he's...
Was this really the plan all the time? Fire David Culley to promote Lovie Smith? Not saying it won't lead to improvement but seems a bizarre decision to make if you're not gonna announce it straight after letting Culley go. It reads like they scouted out a more high profile coach and didn't get...
Good question - what is Judge's next move for the long term? Clearly he wants to be HC again in the NFL but how do you achieve that when you're currently damaged goods after two poor years in NY and you need to prove yourself once again. Most sacked HCs who don't land another HC job a few weeks...
Both of those were irresponsible draft picks by the Patriots. Now apparently Easily was in demand at the end of the first round when we picked him but he was considered boom or bust and had already suffered significant injuries. It's just so hard to justify that pick in retrospect.
Ras IR...
Without a game being played it does seem like the Patriots did play the draft exceptionally well. And that's what can happen when you let the draft come to you. Of course we were blessed by talented players falling which might not happen any other year when the schedule isn't affected and proper...
Agreed. This season the Pats might not use Rex Burkhead. Next season they might no longer have Sony or even James White. I don't think it would be a surprise to see Bill draft a RB in the 3rd to 5th round for the next couple of drafts. A running back before that is generally poor value but a...
This is the year we should do this. Go for quality over quantity. Next year go back to trying to collect many tickets in the lottery when life might be more back to normal. Plus the Patriots are going to have fewer places on the roster to fill this season.
