Ok, so I've been trying to research this and haven't found any info to back it up, but I SWEAR I remember reading an interview after last year's draft with an offensive line coach who worked with Mankins and Vollmer both when they were younger who said he was the only person who wasn't surprised...
The 16-0 game was ALMOST more hyped than the super bowl -- remember when the game was ONLY going to be televised on NFL network and people were FREAKING the f out??? It got so intense, that the Senate was drafting a bill to force NFLN to open the broadcast to networks (something they eventually...
I think BB would have pulled the trigger on Barwin if he had slid to the end of the 2nd but otherwise didn't want to invest so highly in a project -- as talented as he is, he would still require a TON of learning to be a part of this D. We have enough OLB projects on the roster that drafting...
When the draft started out I was shocked repeatedly and questioning heavily. Like 08's class, it's starting to make sense now that i have some space from it. For instance, I was pissed that we bailed on a premier Left Tackle that fell right in to our lap and even more bummed to trade out of the...
I saw this last night too and was unbelievably stoked. Best mock for the Pats I've seen (off of this board!). Sean Smith would be projecting to Corner in this scenario, not Safety. It's odd to get someone at almost 6'4" playing corner (especially for our team), but he has the speed and the...
1. Sintim/Barwin tie
2. Eben Britton
3. Louis Delmas
4. Brian Robiskie
5. Frantz Joseph
Sleeper to enter my top five: Kevin Barnes -- 41 on the wonderlic is pretty damn good.
As of right now, Clint Sintim is the best 3-4 OLB in this draft, the others might learn to play that position and might not. Sintim's played in a 3-4 (Patriots' style, mind you) for his whole college career. That said, I'm warming to Barwin as being a better overall prospect and believe that...
I've been trying to formulate this theory all day myself, except my version doesn't end with us forcing someone to overpay on peppers as that would have no benefit for us. My take relates to an article I read about Parcells being ecstatic over a particular OLB prospect and my guess is that BB...
The things written about Sintim on this thread are poised to go into the Hall Of Fame for Insanely Wrong Posts. Best of luck to all of the applicants! And may you be forever positioned next to the wall of pro-Chad Jackson posts.
Seriously, do people get how hard it is to transfer from a 4-3...
I'm wondering how many other evaluators are picking up on Frantz Joseph's ascendancy? A week or two ago I was ok with reaching for him with our comp pick in round three and now I'm not convinced he'll be there then.
After watching some youtube clips this afternoon, I'm pretty confident that...
What, no analysis of the BB drafts during the Cleveland days?!?
I think the "Butterfingers Slater" dig is a little harsh considering the contributions he made this year as a 5th rounder and a rookie. He was 2nd on the team in special teams tackles -- this is no easy feat on a team that's got...
Sintim.
He's started in what essentially is BB's defensive system for the last three years and thrived. That doesn't include two years spent learning and absorbing it. Barwin might turn into a better player down the road, but Sintim has the smallest learning curve of any OLB prospect in the...
#23: Clint Sintim (OLB)
#34: Eben Britton (RT)
#47: Brian Robiskie (WR)
#58: Patrick Chung (SS)
#89: Johnathan Luigs (OG)
#97: Asher Allen (CB)
I'm a little bummed to wait to address CB so late, but we have a pretty good track record with drafting corners in the middle of the draft and...
Damn, this is a good draft. The only flaw I could see is no potential depth added to the D line. If this included someone like Sammie Hill and Pedelesceaux or Potter, I think it would be near perfect in my eyes.
