EEI just said Lite has the flu

Re: Lite has the flu

It'll be OK. Really. Still 3 days until game time. The night before the AFCCG in Pittsburgh, Brady had a fever over 100.

Re: Lite has the flu

Didn't I say yesterday to lock O'Callaghan up? Unreal.

Re: Lite has the flu

what the eff is it with these players and the flu? Seriously, can't just not get sick before the AFCCG?

By the way, is it the actual "flu" or is it flu -like symptoms. Because the real flu is no joke and most of the time when people say "he had the flu" it's not the real flu. And if it is, it doesn't go away in 3 days, it's a week minimum.

Re: Lite has the flu

Light, man, it's Light.

Anyway, this blows. Again this happens during championship game week? That's O'Callaghan and Light now, hopefully the rest of the line stays the hell away.

Re: Lite has the flu

What is with the Patriots and the flu every year before the AFCCG?

Who the hell is on that Medical Staff?

O'Callaghan had "it" yesterday but isn't listed as missing practice today. It's OK, really.

Re: Lite has the flu

Didn't it start with Light last year too?

Re: Lite has the flu

DAMN, not again. :bricks:

He could still be sick though. Anyway because of last year no one's going to be reassured.

Tomorrow it's going to be Mankins (flu) and then all hell will really break loose.

Re: Lite has the flu

This may sound extreme, but assuming the body builds up resistance after getting through a cold or flu, would it be out of the question to have players intentionally infected in the off-season?

If I were getting paid even $500,000/year I would be willing to intentionally get sick when it doesn't matter so that I would not be at risk when my performance was really needed.

Re: Lite has the flu

Once someone with the Flu enters that lockerroom, it's hard to contain !

Re: Lite has the flu

Being sick focuses the mind. See Jordan, Michael.

Shave the beards, they're germ infested, it's the only way. ;)

That's called a vaccine. And a new strain of the flu strolls around just before winter which is why the vaccine's are always in short supply for that strain.

Re: Light has the flu

After the situation last year, the medical staff could have suggested to the

players that thay get flu shots this year. I get one every year.

Anyone know if the Patriots vaccinate their players? It would only seem to make sense.

True but flu shots are known to be only moderately effective. If someone gets full-blown sick they are much more likely to not get sick again for awhile but I'm certainly no doctor.

Re: Light has the flu

(A) Merriman has been limited due to "illness" as well (see yesterday's report).
(B) The problem last year was not "flu." It was "flu + incredibly warm temperatures in Indy's s***ty dome" (credit Fitzy); being sick *and* in a really humid environment can do a real number on your electrolyte balance and strength. If anything, the fever might keep Light warm on Saturday night. :)

Honestly, I doubt they actually have the "flu." It's a term that gets thrown around loosely. They probably have a bug that causes "flu-like symptoms." Actual influenza is much more serious than people think which is why getting a shot to vaccinate yourself against it is recommended so heavily.
