Peyton's 49 TDs

The POINT is that Brady maxed out in quite a few games. How many MORE points did you want them to score versus the Skins? Why didn't he throw more in game 1 versus Jets? Two bad weather games guys. That's it. Impressive year though, yes. I am not trying to take that away. What I am defending is the down playing of PM's accomplishment, that's all. 50 is 50, he's got the record, congrats.

Fair enough and like I said, if Brady played in 9 domes games this year and 6 other games in warm weather climates all above 40 degrees like Peyton did in 2004, then we all, as Pats fans, honestly feel that he would have thrown close to 60 TD's. That's our honest assessment.

There's a reason why the new Lucas Oil Stadium has a retractable roof, why would they want PM to play in anything less than a climate controlled environment or a windless, nice sunny day in Indiana. Anything else, CLOSE THE ROOF.................GIVE ME A BREAK.

Fair enough. And had manning played that final game versus Denver, in the cozy dome, I think 53 would be the number. And I doubt NE is going to put a hood over that stadium. So, either move the team, or move Brady. Otherwise, you'll never know, and it's pure speculation, and pointless.

It would be great if they left it open, but obviously they won't. I don't know what you want? Maybe we trade PM for EM, Plax, a few defenders? It is what it is.

Which is exactly why it's dumb to extrapolate situational stats over Mannings season. Maybe he would have thrown 0 TDs that last game (he was shutout twice that season so it's not impossible. Also maybe If Brady were Manning, he wouldn't have been intercepted 3 times when up by 22 points (i.e. trying to run it up and failing).

Or you could look at the second Miami game, where they clearly dominated Miami in the first half, and then stopped scoring in the second half of the game entirely to try out different things. Do you think Brady was incapable of breaking the record that game?

What do I want, how about PM play his games outside like Tom Brady does in the windy and bitter cold Northeast.

I give up.

When Manning did it I thought it was amazing.

And now when Brady did it I think it's amazing.

I don't care to pick apart how each one did it. It's just awesome to watch any QB have a season with this many TD passes no matter who he is. Well to me anyway.

No one's asking you to give up. Just call it like it is:

Brady 50 TD's and 8 picks (1 dome game, some nice weather games and some real nasty weather games).

Manning 49 TD's and 10 picks (9 dome games, remaining games played in exceptional weather conditions).

Just call it like it is and state the facts

Always knew you guys preferred Manning to Brady.

Now, tell me why Favre, the record holder for many QB categories, can't hold a candle to Brady. We'll take the weather out of that equation up front though, okay?

Agreed.
I always just shook my head in amazement when Manning put up those numbers. Then, the media would go broadcast happy and would be just in awe over his accomplishments. Now, Brady has one upped him. Not only did he break the TD records he did it in the North east where there are no dome stadiums and where the weather gets downright nasty. Its not even close, playing in a controlled environment and playing outside.

They're all longevity records.

Okay great. How many bad weather games did Brady play in this season? I watched most Pats games. Um the Jets game and maybe the Baltimore game.

What other games were there with wind, freezing cold and snow or rain?

Stop with the weather crap.

Weather crap? The last 7 games Brady played this year the temps ranged from a low of 34* to a high of 44*. Wind Chill Knocked the high temps into the 30's and 20's. The last time he played outdoors with the temp over 70 was in week 7 against the Fins. He played the Colts in week 9.

Payton' 2004 weather.
Week 17 Denver 32* but he didn't play.
Week 11 Chicago 43* The remaining 5 outside games were played in 67*-85* weather.

He played on game with the temps in the 40's. Brady played 7.

could we get some postseason tallies up in here, plz?

I don't doubt the weather in '04, but honestly, Pats had 2 bad weather games, that's it. 2.

yeah, how many td's did he have in those 2 games?

you colts fans really need to let go.
take your 1 superbowl and be happy with that.
hey --- look at it this way, manning probably has the record for most td's in a dome!

0 versus Jets, which is what Manning had versus Denver in the dome when he took 3 snaps in week 17

yeah, that was his choice, wasn't it?
maybe if he'd have been playing to win instead of just playing enough to chase stats he'd still have the record.
