They aren't laying down? Shocker.
What a dumb concept. No team ever comes into a game saying "yeah they're going to kill us." So how is this news?

It's not a foreign concept. Some teams are actually are beat on a psychological level before the game is even played.

Maybe but you'll never know until you see it on the field and any columnist who says otherwise is lying or an idiot.

and the rest are beat on a regular level during the game:D

OK, I think Prisco is trying to suggest that the Jags are aiming to be more physical than normal with our WR's. But to what extent? Like when the Eagles came to town and they were literally tearing apart Moss's jersey? Hopefully this time we'll have a refereeing crew that's able to throw a flag every now and then.

Prisco is terrible. How he's the lead NFL columnist for CBS, I'll never know.

On the whole, it was a sensible article. But the following quote is surely already on the bulletin board:

"If that's what they want to do, that's the game we'll have to play," Jaguars nickel back Terry Cousin said. "But you don't get 50 touchdown passes by running it. They believe they can throw against you. They don't have a lot of pride and say they're going to stick it up there and play a smash-mouth game. That's not what they do."

Why? All he's saying is that team doesn't insist on running the ball and pummeling the opponent on the ground. He's right.

You are misreading it. He's saying they are not going to go outside of what they do best out of a sense of pride.

It is easier said than done. The Jags can say what they want and THINK that they have been preparing for us since whenever. What do they think our coaching staff has been doing? Sitting around twiddling their thumbs? Please. They have no idea what we are going to do. They THINK they do, but as I said before, this is the Playoffs. BB always puts new wrinkles in his scheme during the playoffs. They will see some things that this team hasn't shown all year.

This sounds rather idiotic, can you imagine Rodney, Assante of any of our DB's saying this crap..

I think he was baiting the PATs. Sort of saying,
"hey, PATs you gotta pass to win ... try a smashmouth run game and you get whipped. If you had Pride you'ld play us smash mouth and try to stick to us that way"

IMO, He's afraid of PATs pass offense ... no doubt ... and he should be.:D

hold on...are you telling me that the jags plan on actually PLAYING???? HOW DARE THEY!!! Dont they realize this is the great team to ever put on pads. Lord Brady is coming and they plan to play!!!! Off with their heads.

I'm guessing it sounds better than it reads. If you place the word "foolish" or something similar in front of "pride", then it reads more like it sounds.

I read it as something similar to the Marcellus Wallace speech on pride.

Did that guy from the Jets say "I hope they don't beat us too bad." before the second Jets game?

Ah ... yes the word "foolish" changes the whole tone of his remark. if that's
what he meant ... he is right.

You're right. This is a foriegn concept for sure! Even those teams that are beat on psychologically would NEVER admit they are over matched. ALL teams (even the Dolphins) will say we're not laying down.

Even the Chargers aren't going to admit they're over-matched by the Colts. Same type of situation.

Not this Jaguars team, wait and see.

I would be real funny if they just laid down in the fetal position like Eason before every play LOL!!

It's a barely disguised dig.

Accordingly, everybody but the Patriots is a "physical" team, but none of them can get to Brady or beat them.

Accordingly, probowl OL like Mankins or Koppen are out there playing boy scouts in comparison to mighty smashmouth teams like Jacksonville.

Can an NFL player be this petty and stupid to accuse the league's first 16-0 team of not being smashmouth just because they choose to throw a lot? Hello, it's 2008, dude. Look at the date on the ticket to Foxboro.
