There have been several heated debates about Maroney on this board. Lets see if we can keep this one on track and keep it respectable to all those involved.

Hindsight is 20 / 20 but how many of you would not pick LoMo if they had the chance to go back in time and pick again.

Dont waste time posting other things. Just be honest , pick a option , and vote.

This pole is not to troll , I am interested in the honest opinion of those on the board who might not want to get into the LomO threads in fear of being black balled.

BE HONEST

I wouldn't pick Laurence Maroney and would instead pick DeMeco Ryans, in much the same way that a lot of decent picks could be questioned, but I have no issues with Maroney.

Thats true. This pole is meant to get a feel for how everyone on the board feels about LoMo. Some might not want to get into the threads.

Good insight , thanks for posting.

Mo Jo Drew but again no issue with Maroney.

Good to see the O line is not being blamed for this.

Too earlier for me.
When he has caught the ball in the open field, he has beed good. it's the straight ahead, in close running is struggles with. I say, use screens and dump off passes more for him and get him some confidence.

Thank for the insight. Kudos for keeping it clean and being honest.

Ryans is too small to play in the Pats 3-4 defense.

That was my pick also. Not trying to bash LoMo , just think he is highly overrated at this point.

Give it a rest. All you EVER do is bash Maroney.

I mean I'm not saying Maroney doesn't still have upside but if you go purely by production I would really have to pick between Addai and Jones-Drew if I went back. But I voted undecided.

False. I can show you three threads I had on the main board yesterday that had nothing to do with Maroney , not anything negative.

Please so a search , you are wrong. If you dont like this thread stay out of it. The people who do not need to resort to insults are doing just fine.

Blamed for WHAT? We have the best offense in NFL history.
What exactly are we placing blame on?

A few posters claimed the lack of holes created when the line is run blocking are to blame for Maroneys lack of effectivness.

I just included it as an option to be fair.

Gee, is that cross getting a little heavy? Good to see you're now adopting a persecution complex.

Of course, I wasn't being entirely literal with that statement. But the fact remains, your act is getting very, very old. We get you don't like Maroney. Unless you have some stats or something concrete to back up your argument, please don't feel obligated to share your opinion anymore because we GET IT ALREADY.

POLE = a long, cylindrical, often slender piece of wood, metal, etc
POLL = a sampling or collection of opinions on a subject, taken from either a selected or a random group of persons, as for the purpose of analysis.

Again, what you say and what you meant are two entirely different things.

This POLL is so you can beat on your chest and say "HA" Me and NSA are right about Maroney and most people agree with us.

This poll would be a lot more accurate if you didn't blatantly over-state the opinions held by those who think that you and NSA are clueless.

*WARNING:OPINION* Most people think its still too early to tell. That its STUPID to start judging a player a YEAR after his draft when every coach and personnel player says you can't fully evaluate players until they've had 3 years in the league. These are guys who have MANY more years understanding this game than most of the posters here. Including myself since I only started watching in 1982 and passionately in 1993.

With our present offense and with Brady I think it's a waste of $$$ having a back like Maroney. I'd rather have 3 pass catching great blocking FullBacks on the team and a player like Faulk.

In the old NFL days FullBacks were usually great blockers. We have not had that for awhile now. Dillon was good last year and Sam Gash was the last time we had a big tough blocker back there. Last nights game would be an afterthought if we had a huge 240+ LB fullback back there to help protect Brady.

I love LoMo ... but give me an animal back there ... because I love Brady more.

I thought Maroney looked great with his catches in the Baltimore game. I think he has a very high upside. He is still young, but I think in 2-3 years he will be great. For right now, I would have preferred Addai, he is the best RB out of that class, in my opinion, so far.
