Brady gone

Tom,
You are the GOAT QB but more important a role model and great person. Thanks to your leadership and consistently taking team friendly contracts, we enjoyed 20 years of unprecedented success. Endings are sad but I wish you nothing but success with your new team. Thank you for leading the Pats to six Lombardi trophies. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Btw, jules is an idiot for saying that he’s coming back.

Keeping Jimmy was the better long term plan to take, he's better than Stidham ever will be and they'd have still been able to get a kings ransom for Brady from San Fran.

Great to see that you are the new "Ms. Cleo". Could you tell everyone when the COVID-19 shutdowns will end and what the next Lottery numbers are going to be?

I said since last year Brady was different he was distant he didn't build his guys up stayed away from programs he would normally be the first one there for.
Looked disinterested and defeated on the sideline at times.

Whatever happened between Tom and Bill anyone who didn't look at this situation with Tom Colored glasses could see this divorce.

turn back the clock to 2000, I think we were in a worse position because bill was a new hire, bledsoe wasn’t panning out and we didn’t have high expectations. Doesn’t have to necessarily be a rebuild. We have nkeal Harry entering his second year, jules is still here, slater is still here and both McCourtys are here. Veterans are there to help out whoever the starter is going to be.

I think the jarring thing for many will be a readjustment of expectations. Making the AFCCG for almost 10 years straight has left a totally warped sense of success and entitlement that will not that easily go away.

I
I don't think that would have allowed us to give him the weapons he deserves
I never believed this was about weapons. Pats have operated the same way for 20 yrs. He just grew tired of it , it seems

My work hasn’t shut down yet but damn now I wanna call in sick anyways.
9 am and you're still not at work, what are you a banker?

Meh, just another bloated ego that can't be happy with an estimated half billion dollars net worth with his wife. He showed his anger last year in a camp interview complaining to the media, in essence saying, "Don't you think I've earned more"? Millions aren't enough, they have to be the most millions.
Whatever. This guy has taken a pay cut his entire career for sake of the Pats. He gave us 6SBs. BB never really surrounded him with star wide receivers. Yes we had Moss but that was a bonus - and we never won a SB with him. Gronk was the only other HoF on offense. Brady gave us something we will never experience with anyone else ever. He will always be a big part of my life. Thanks TB for all the memories.

How many TEs has BB drafted in 19 years? I'm not counting 2000 when they had to use the crap from Grier.

Love, Holloway, Graham, Nead, Watson, Stokes, Mills, Thomas, Gronkowski, Hernandez, Derby, Izzo.

Izzo the jury is still out on.
Thomas gave them a decent year as the #3 TE behind Graham and Watson. Then Thomas missed most of a season with an injury. He then came back and started 10 games in 2008 but wasn't really a part of the offense because of Moss, Welker, Gaffney, and Faulk.

Nead, Stokes, Derby and Izzo were all late round picks. (6th/7th rounds)

The way I see it, you have 4.5 out of 8. Pretty good.

Great. Average at best. How about WR? 20+ years and he hit on 3 Branch, Jules and Givens to a lesser extent.

wow... ain't gonna lie... this hurts

There are bigger things than you going on Tom....

Never underestimate the number of chicken littles waiting to post on this board.

I’ve had my moments of negativity over the years, but man. It was bad before the Brady announcement, and now? People have got me wondering how much time I’m going to waste this year rooting for one of the worst in the league, and I’m not saying they are absolutely wrong. We very well could go straight to the gutter, but let’s wait jussssst a tad longer before we just throw in that towel. ;)

Alex Guerrero also played a huge part in this BB didn't welcome him nor his methods and that grew great frustration between Tom and BB.
You want someone to blame Alex

I jiust hope he goes to an NFC team. Cant handle him playing vs the pats this yr.

I think if you watched Brady on the sidelines last year when the team was struggling you did not see the fire in his eyes anymore, the yelling at his teammates to not give up was non existent the whole season- everytime a situation like this occurred you saw him emotionless sitting on the sidelines with a bottle of water in his hand and drinking without saying or doing anything to encourage the group and acting like he just wanted out - I think bad feelings between Belichick and Brady since the Garropolo situation had continued to increase game by game - their divorce was imminent

Let's hope BB has a plan in place because you're not only replacing the GOAT QB/player, you're replacing the greatest leader of all time as well. His presence in the locker room brought stability made others fall in line to the 'Patriot Way'. His clutch play made it easier for the defense to take risks knowing somehow they were never out of a game with TB on offense. The intangibles more than anything is what TB brought to the team.

For all you know, though, Alex is the main reason Brady was still even playing well at 42. If Alex wasn’t around, Brady may have already been retired.

People writing off Stidham maybe rushing to the stores for his jersey this season after he lights it up

This will be the biggest mistake of Brady's career. He will never find success or even get a sniff at another Super Bowl with either the Chargers or Buccaneers. He should have just retired. This is not going to end well for Tom.

He needs an OL that can give him A LOT of time. He's going to an offense where skill receivers are going to have to get used to a new offense or a QB getting used to a new offense.

I honestly think this will give more fuel to the criticism that he's a system QB given the circumstances. He should just retire.

20 years with the same team and to not retire with that team...

There is something else going on, with Brady and the team. I hate to say this but this has rift written all over.

In any case, I’m obviously devastated. Tom is my favorite football player of all time. I can’t even imagine him in a different uniform. 2020 is quite possibly the worst year I’ve ever experienced. And I was alive in 2016.
