The owners of the Red Sox have shown their pettiness by refusing to invite a key member of the 2004 team to participate in the opening ceremony with the rest of the group. I don't care what idiotic excuse they give, it's clear that Curt Schilling was left out because his conservative politics don't align with the liberals who own the Red Sox. It's the exact same bias that we see from the Boston Globe, the newspaper that they own.

Imagine if the Patriots refused to allow a player to participate in that kind of ceremony because he didn't support the same political views as Bob Kraft. I'm sure that wouldn't happen though because Kraft has more class than to let his politics interfere with supporting ALL of the players who helped make his teams successful.

I'm not sure that I can continue to support the Red Sox if that's how shallow they are. Not that they care.

Guess they forgot about the bloody sock.
OTOH they slandered Francona on they way out of town.

I hate redsox ownership with a passion. how the hell do they honor the 04 sox and not invite curt schilling? this ******** makes me embarrassed to be a redsox fan. world series or not. this ruined my redsox buzz that's for sure. this is why i dont go to fenway anymore.

schilling lives in medfield ma. right down the st. they snubbed him. its obvious. redsox ownership are politically correct morons. they didnt invite him because of his politics.
The only people they asked to throw out the first pitch were already in the building. Foulke lives in Boston and they didn't ask him. He was only there was because he called them.

As a fan, I want to see Schilling. Embree, seriously? Schilling is on a different political planet and I don't like his politics. However, he was more important to winning in 2004 then most of those huge contributors.
Absolutely. Schilling was vital and his contributions to the 2004 team are far more relevant than his politics. If they had most of the 2004 team there and they didn't bother to call him, then this would be shady. But they just asked the former players who were already in the park.

there are no facts to what you are saying, just a guess. Fake news

Who cares? He’s still a legend for his heroics and throwing out the first pitch or not doesn’t change that. Maybe they’ll invite him next year? There were a lot of choices after all and you can’t argue with any that were selected.

Feck John Henry, and FECK the bow-ties bum-kissers of Morrissey Boulevard. Just win me my championship, then go STFU somewhere...and get rid of Nunez & Kimbrel.

I’m a liberal but they should have invited everyone regardless of their political stance unless they started becoming bat**** radicals.
I don’t know much about Shillings current political views or what he said lately but he deserved the invite.

With that said, I’m still partying and giving crap to my LA dodger co-workers!

I heard Curt Schilling respond to that today and he doesn't care much either. It sounded like he expected them to snub him.

That's how it should be and why I believe the Sox ownership should have overlooked his politics. If the fans used the same logic as Sox ownership the stadiums would be half full.

Actually, fake news is printing a doctored porn photo in the Boston Globe and saying it was our soldiers raping an Iraqi woman. Now THAT'S what I call fake news.
