Hopes For Next Year??????

Yeah, just not understanding why you’d lump a guy like Amendola who has taken a pay cut for 3 straight years and has proven to be the ultimate Patriot with guys like freaking Martellus Bennett and LeGarrette Blount? He’s been playing for peanuts for 3 straight years. Why would his attitude suddenly change now?

If Danny isn’t here next season it will almost certainly be because Belichick has decided to move on, and I’m not sure why that would be a consideration after showing that he’s at the very least a valuable backup, especially with Edelman returning from an ACL tear.
You never know if/when an athlete wants to cash in on the last big paycheck.

We may see some defensive weaknesses addressed, although not the kind of big, exciting moves that people want to see. With the return of some key injured players, there’s at least a core base that seems to be worth building around. Although there are weaknesses, we should still keep in mind that they led the league in points allowed from October through the end of the season (sans SB, of course).

Guy, Valentine, Wise, A.Butler, Brown, Flowers, Rivers

Hightower, Roberts, Lee, M.Flowers, Harrison (?)

McCourty, Chung, Harmon, Gilmore, J. Jones, Rowe, C.Jones

Add in one or two of the developing PS players who have been learning the system and things don’t appear to be quite as dismal as some are making it out to be.

I think we need an improvement on a couple of front seven players and a CB. It will be interesting to see if Belichick drafts another SS to replace a role player like Richards, if he brings in a FA, or promotes someone from the PS. I’m guessing a combo.
I'm just hoping Cyrus Jones can field a punt without muffing it.

Kyle Van Noy would like to have a word with you.

Super excited that i will see Jordan Richards playing next year as a starter.

dont like mcdaniels back, hope he goes to mars

less injuries- some potential starters ,no one is talking about Rivers, Langi, not to mention Valentine and Mitchell which both woul be playing in SB as starters. And Cyrus Jones as slot corner.

overcome tough schedule

hope that Gronk and Dante does not retire

good draft especially without 2rd brainfart

I included him in the last paragraph as someone who needs to be replaced.
Remember ............ Tavon Wilson survived all four years of his rookie contract.

One of the stranger picks from Belichick lately, in my opinion. He may not even make the team if he doesn’t impress in TC and they have better options.

Just another of Bill Belichick's recent second round brain farts:

Richards, Jordan
Wilson, Tavon
Dowling, Glass-IR

Given that Josh is staying now...

I for one am quite positve about next season.

We will have key players back depending on free agency we should keep the core together ( hope burkhead and lewis stay)

We lost MP as DC but if we use the draft to get some studs in defense, with Josh satying we have our greatest asset intact, our Offence.

Im hopeful on finding a potential future QB, some D players and coaching continuity with Josh and Bill.

How does everyone feel about next season?

AAwwwwwweeeee YEAAAAAHHHHH

Richards needs to be on the next plane to siberia. He is god awful. Then BB needs to make amends with Pats Nation for leaving Butler on the bench for the biggest game of the year.

That said I think we saw the last best chance for a SB win. Brady will end with 5 and still be the GOAT.

Why? $$$$$$

Why did Martellus Bennett leave the New England Patriots? $$$$$$

Why did LeGarrette Blount leave the New England Patriots? $$$$$$

Add Logan Ryan, Jabaal Sheard to the $$$$$$ list.

Why didnt Edelman leave the Pats despite substantially more money elsewhere? Brady.

Why will Dola stay on with a slight pay increase and with full guarantees? Brady.

Patriots are going to go all-in, 2007 style.

I expect a big name on defense, probably via a released player or trade.

They are winning the SB.

I like those player but Bennett was grossly overpaid, Ryan was replaced by Gilmore, and Sheard was not coming back for both financial and behavior reasons. And as much as I like Blount personally their run game was much better without him and he was one of their worst playoff players on a consistent basis. If they weren’t playing the Colts he was worthless.

Imo the Patriots had an excellent offseason last offseason and people claiming they didn’t are engaged in revisionist history. Pretty much the entire fan base here was really excited by what they had done in the offseason and excited about the team going into the year. They went 13-3 and lost in the final minutes of the Super Bowl, and that was after losing more games to injury than every team but one, and I think the leader in that category was the Giants, who are picking top 3.

Do they have a lot of work to do this offseason, without a doubt, especially in the defensive side of the ball, but bemoaning the loss of guys like Blount makes no sense to me. And while I can see where Sheard could have helped I think most here realized his relationship with the team had seriously eroded, and that he wanted more than they thought he was worth.

Same here. Just saw that they released the Sound FX footage, but I wouldn’t watch that with a gun to my head.

This is the only place I’ll even go. I hesitantly checked some NCAA and NHL scores on the ESPN app for the first time, tonight.

I tuned it all out, plenty of other things to focus on.

let me get this stright........Bennett was grossly overpaid so we let him walk and trade for Dwayne Allen......who makes more than Bennett

now I am starting to see towards the origins of the idea that the defense was better without Butler
