Forum acting up again?

So then I told her.."YOU cooked it, YOU take it out...!"...imagine telling me, Joe Kerr to "take out the garbage, take out the garbage.."....what is this, the Tina Two-Times Show?...anyway, the judge asked me the grounds for the divorce and I said "try the entire planet of Hysteria..."..and then...uh....oh wait...this is the wrong page!...how'd I get teleported to Patsfans???:D
I'll never understand why women are somehow programmed to insist it's the man's job to take out garbage. Is it in their DNA? Do they learn it from the Lifetime Channel? Mother teaches them? I don't get it. Anyway, did the judge address this line item specifically? I'm curious what the courts say.

I can't leave a tab in my browser open to PatsFans.com for any length of time, as eventually it will freeze up. All the video ads crash Shockwave repeatedly as well.

I'm sure the judge couldn't wait to split that baby in half but I wonder if a court appointed psychologist might be called in?

I had problems yesterday but it's working fine this morning.

I don't know, but I'd like to see the inequities of this garbage issue addressed by a higher authority.

Well THAT explains a lot of Joe's posts.

Now you do

"I'm going to be streamlining some things on here so I'm aware of this. The board and the site is going to change quite a bit by the end of March as I'm working on a much cleaner design and layout which will extend sitewide - and I'm aware of the autoplay issue that the ad networks can't seem to figure out I don't want. So hang in there with me a little longer on this.

And for the delay with posting, I'm still looking into trying to figure out that issue. I'm guessing that will hopefully be fixed by the end of this week."

I don't understand why the hell that thread is hidden in the Help Desk Forum.

There are a bunch of scripts running in the background on this site - so if you have your browser set to prevent them, you'll get freezes and tremendous latency.

At least, Mozilla is telling me that. The video ads and music/talking ads kill the place, I think.

I'm aware of this, and it's not just here it's site wide with the white screen, etc. I'm talking with the server company about changing configurations and trying to finalize the details. Unfortunately this part is a slow process but hopefully I'll get this ironed out this week.

I just removed two spots for people who are logged in on Friday (lurkers, etc. are the ones who see all of them), so there are the minimum number of ads running for registered users who are logged in. There also shouldn't be any ads that are auto-play w/audio as I had requested those be shut off, so if you're seeing it let me know what location it's happening on so I can pinpoint which one is causing an issue. I haven't seen any on my end when I've tested it, so you shouldn't be experiencing it either.

Will do.

No worries. Trying to make things easier and I posted in another thread that I'll be streamlining things in here over the next month with a new layout, so that will be coming. In the middle of an side project that I'm trying to finish up so I can get that done and move on to getting back to things in here.

In the right hand column the top ad box is now just a grey box and the ad box below the tweets is running video but no auto audio. Works for me! Everything is running smoothly. Love this site. It's been a home base for me for a decade-and-a-half. Keep up the great work Ian! It's appreciated. :)

This forum is always acting up for me. The moment I go on this site, my computer grinds down to a halt. CPU usage instantly goes from <10% to > 50% and every page takes forever to load. If I am on the site long enough the browser will crash. No other site in the internet does this. Unfortunately for me there is no other site on the net with such a good concentration of pats news so I have no choice but to come here.

Does it improve after you login?

The top right hand one had seemed to be the culprit and it's now disabled after registered users are logged in, as is the top 960px one that appears above the header.

As I said, changes are coming, and the newer version will be much nicer and a lot of the clutter will be going away, I just need a little more time to work on it.

Nope. No real change if I am logged in.
