Board features I'd like added back

Has anyone else noticed that the alert system is a little buggy? Sometimes I have alert messages for things that aren't for me and other times I fail to get alerts when I should. It doesn't happen all the time but it does happen pretty frequently.

There also seems to be a post count issue. Sometimes there is an extra page listed to a thread that is exactly the same as the previous page number. This seems to only happen on the larger threads.

Neither one of these is much of a problem but I thought I'd mention them in case someone was interested in cleaning up some stuff.

I've noticed that if I go extended period without visiting the board (I'm sometimes scarce on weekends and usually don't log in at all from Friday afternoon until Sunday), I'll get some alerts but notice more when I browse and see older posts that I didn't actually get an alert for. That, and if someone tags me in their post, I don't get an alert for that either.

Unless it's there and I just don't see it, I miss being able to search within a thread. I use it if I find something relevant to a thread and want to make sure no one else has posted it.

Also: When I hover over a thread, I usually see the page count pop up. Sometimes this doesn't happen (across browsers and machines), so I just click on the title then go in and click a page number. Does anyone know why this happens?

Just go to the search bar at the top and there's an option to check "search this thread only."

I have the same issue you do with regards to page numbers not showing up sometimes for threads. Haven't figured out why yet.

Jags gear, actually, since he'll be in that market where he'll be moving to. I don't think he believes me when I tell him that he'll start to pull for the Jags whenever they're not playing the Pats.

Making some internal changes to the software and cleaning out some things server-wise to fix the search function on the board. Also noticed we have another software update that should clean up some of the bugs.

Toiling hard over a new feature that you guys are going to like, been at this for a while now and I'm getting there. Also have a couple new things coming this week, so you'll see those shortly, but the big one is going to be really, really cool

One that I really, really want back is the "jump to last post" button in threads.

During gameday threads I'll have the thread open and sometimes I'll come back like an hour later and I'm not able to jump to the most recent post, only the "last unread post".

Also when there's a thread with multiple pages, the thread titles would have links to the pages next/under it. Now they don't up.

Sorry for the kind of random thread but maybe others can give suggestions as well.

I've seen the same thing where it seems to require a reload prior to the click. I've got something I'm working on that's separate that might solve this issue so I'll see if I can get it functioning properly in time for next week.

WASTED SPACE is my issue. Look at post #23....a one sentence post, yet the space devoted to that one post consumes the entire screen. Why? The point here is to read content, not scroll thru empty space

Which gets me to my next point.......vertical height of signatures...TOO MUCH. Again, reading posts has become a scrolling exercise devoted to bypassing wasted space. For example , any Christiancat post.....see post #18 on page 1 of this thread. His signature alone consumes the entire page. Again....why?

No, something isn't right, everything I try is coming up empty. I'll probably have to rebuild it again. But I'm off tomorrow so I can run it overnight and I'll be home to make sure it finishes and is working properly.

Not a big deal. It's still running, looks like it stopped in the middle of last night and I just noticed it didn't finish. Hopefully it will be done today.
