Per Price (WEEI):

Aiken, Arrington, Connolly, Easley, Edelman, Fleming, Hightower, Jones, LaFell and Vereen are all listed as questionable for the Pats. C. White is "doubtful."

They have until Sat 4 PM to fill empty roster slot should they chose to do so.

Someone posted Hightower is unlikely..forget who now. My guess is he won't go.

Hopefully Easley can go and if Jones is 100%...let him get some snaps in

Not too worried, BB seems to randomly place guys that should be probable as questionable. Doubt Jones gives it a go but I'd expect to see Edelman, Arrington, LaFell, and Vereen out there at least. Aiken not playing isn't even really a loss. Ninkovich is better. You just don't want a starter at LS longterm in case of injuries and what not and getting the reps in practice.

Some speculated Ghosts miss against GB was due to the timing of Nink as opposed to Aiken.

Personally, I agree with you, but if Nink is that much of a difference, you play Aiken. Even though he's TERRIBLE

Obviously LaFell, Edelman,Conbolly, Hightower, Vereen each contribute at a level they will definitely be missed if they don't play. But even beyond that there are noticeable drop offs if these players don't play:
--Was Gost's miss Aiken related? That's a BFD if your FG conversion rate is compromised.
--The drop of from Arrington to 'Ryan/Dennard' may be/probably noticeable. Anything that may negatively effect the 'third down stops' conversion rate could be painful.
--The difference with Fleming and without Fleming was noticeable in the GB game. If that option had been there in the GB game I think it would have been just enough to change the outcome.

Assuming Gost/Ryan Allen are affected by the absence of Aiken (a definite assumption), Easley is probably the most expendable player on the list.
I tell you what, the Patriots have a lot of players who contribute at a significant enough level for there lack of presence to be felt. They may not be superstars, but there are contributors(no blatant weak links) all over the field for the Patriots.

There's definitely an issue with those kicking teams working together on timing. The way to solve that is get a new long snapper in and let them practice. Maybe they're waiting for this tough stretch of games to be over.

We are so used to "perfection" in ST's, amazing how we all notice when things are not what they should be.

Wonder if in last week's game, if Gostowski was hindered by a bad snap??

The fact that they signed a replacement LS and ditched him without bringing anyone else in seems to indicate they expect Aiken back soon.

It indicates something.

I assume it also indicates they value the worst long snapper I've ever seen, for some reason, being that he plays a position where excellence would be assumed to coincide with total anonymity.

I'm just holding my breath and praying that he doesn't cost us a close game in the 4th quarter some day. Hopefully Allen continues to bail him out. But Aiken needs to go. He's awful.

I hope they can sign this guy...
