Not every business seeks to maximize profits. The Krafts own one the richest franchises in the NFL. They don't need the money. They are prioritizing additional profits ahead of the enjoyment of more ordinary fans. They have every right to do so. We have every right to criticize their pecuniary selfishness.

You have every right to go make more money, like Bob Kraft did too.
It is silly to criticize a business for not selling you their product cheaper than they can.

If Kraft didn't need the money, why did he built Patriot place? Why does he keep running his businesses?
Are you seriously telling me that if you were him, you would say, no thanks, I have enough money, I don't want any more?

Don't we want the Krafts to be as successful as possible? Doesn't their financial success collectively help the team and by extension the fanbase as a whole?

I personally do not wish to revisit the days of cold aluminium benches, constant threat of team relocation, and unusable bathrooms because the franchise teeters on the brink of bankruptcy.

I'll never own club seats, luxury boxes, or lounge space, or season tickets. I don't have the money-- I'll go to 1 or 2 games a year-- but nobody is making us buy these things. If the high priced amenities are such a poor decision, market forces will reveal it. After a couple losing seasons, it'll be empty.

I don't understand the vitriol towards those who choose to purchase these things. If you don't like something, don't buy it and stop complaining

Removing 1,500 seats ought to help with the pesky problem of excessive crowd noise when the visiting team has the ball.

I don't agree with this lounge seating thing, but regarding the crowd noise, at least this year, I thought Gillette been great.

We don't like it because it displaces seAson ticket holders in that area...and people already complain about the noise...this will make it worse with those corporate assholes not even watching the game.

How would you like it if you had season tic like 3 rows up and now you have to move and you loved those seats?

I agree that the "corporate" fan is not as engaged, but does that make them an "*******"?

I don't think Gillette gets built without "corporate *******" money. They overpay for fancy things which, in part, helps us "regular" customers get a better stadium.

I like that is close to the field, but I wouldn't pay that much to be in the end zone. Being that low in the end zone, you ain't seeing anything going on when the ball is in the other red zone.

Unless you just decide not to accept your full paycheck this is a strawman.
I'm sure Kraft gives more to charity than you do. I'm sure you do not sell things you own for less than people are willing to pay for them.
There is no reward to Bob Kraft to lower the price of tickets or run his stadium the way any fan would in his place.

Wish Kraft would go all in on making Gillette as loud as possible. I mean it's not like he's going to spend all his money. Oh well, he's still one of the best things to happen to Massachusetts. Also he basically paid to send New England Revolution fans to and from New York for a playoff game. So he's not that cheap.

I think we can get $150 worth per game.

Oddly enough I think this will be really good for a preseason game and add to the value of what obviously isn't the same as the other 8.

During regular season we like to get into the Stadium an hour early and watch warm ups and now we have a new spot to watch from and new concessions that likely will be better.

In the winter it's a warm spot already past the ticket lines and we can watch other games in there and then head to our seats just before kickoff.

It might wind up a one season thing or our new pregame which is what I meant by check it out. If it's our new pregame then we would obviously feel the 1500 was well worth it. And if it's a one year thing then 1500 might be a little rich but we would still Get a new experience and plenty of value out of it.

FWIW our red Sox group of season ticket holders also split the Royal Rooters Club at Fenway which is similar cost for the season and a similar amenity. More games and rain delays add to it's value so we will see if the pats club is as good but we like it there.

Would he suddenly start to only break even if the lounge would not be built ? It doesn't matter if he builds it or not he will still make a **** ton of money. The question is whether the increase they get from the lounge is worth alienating some of their fans.

Now while we are hyper successful it is a non-issue. The stadium will be always be full. However, once this improbable run ends we will see if the ever increasing ticket prices and ideas like the lounge will leave a bitter taste that will make it harder for him to fill the stadium.

Incipient senility made me oblivious of the cadre of Patriots rump swabs who would support this travesty.
Silly me. I thought it was only Kraft who thought ripping out rabid ST seats for a Harvard Club experience watching widescreen TV while standing adjacent to the EZ was a good thing.
I was wrong.

I'm certain that visiting clubs will appreciate this noise abatement feature.

I have no problem with Kraft seeking ways to max out revenue such as Patriots Place development whose downside is that we have to do a 10K to get back to our cahs after the game. But Bobby, don't insult us with your insincere polemics saying that this abomination is because "the fans wanted it".

While you are allowed to buy fewer memberships than you have season tickets (as long as you buy at least two), on a given gameday the lounge pass is bound to whoever first uses it.
