Tired of seeing dice-K put on waivers ...

Anyways ... anything that doesn't merit a thread ... throw it in here.

This might be the only post of the season ...

this will be an interesting season with a few stories to watch.

SS: they said Drew was nothing like his brother JD. I am not seeing the difference. Another Drew and another strange injury that will probably linger. ugh. Iglesias has improved his hitting enough (i think) to get some time at SS

C: I am looking forward to see what Salty can do at the plate this year. he has had a good spring and if he stays healthy, 30 hrs are not out of the question. Meanwhile, Lavarnway had digressed and we should have traded him when his value was high (hindsight). We are stacked at the C position with Brown and Vasquez a year away from the big leagues and a couple others in A/AA making progress. Lavarnway is the odd man out and has no trade value any longer

DH: I said when he got hurt last year that he was done. The sox and the terrible medical staff said it was no big deal. Well, they have come clean and said he had a tear in the heel. Why the hell did they give him another contract. Stupid decision and i think he is done. He might get some ABs but that heel will trouble him for the year.

CL: not sure about the closer. not having a great spring but we will see how the whole thing plays out. They were smart to keep Bailey around.

S: The rotation looks good, not great. I dont think we have a true #1 guy, more like a bunch of #3s. Dempter and Lackey look good and we will see what happens.

Minors: this is the best part of the team. tons of talent that will hit Fenway over the next couple of years.

This will be an interesting season. my approach: dont expect much and be pleasantly surprised

I have been one of the guys who b!tched most of the off-season about this team. Perhaps it's just the annual approach of spring, and all that baseball represents to me, but I am looking forward to the start of the season. I don't believe the hype from the media, but I can see with my own eyes that Lackey looks thinner. Whether or not they capture my interest beyond the greening of the grass in Fenway in April remains to be seen.

the thought of the bruins and Celtics seasons coming to a end and the sox being the only show in town till sept makes me puke.

bro, camp opens, what, July? It'll be ok. BBQ. Sit on the porch and have a beer.

david Ortiz and his achilles makes me puke all over the deck after the BBQ.

Let it go. They aren't relevant, and they won't be. Enjoy the spring and summer without 'em.

Nice to see Jackie Bradley make the team and he will be starting in left. I think it will be great that we have 3 CF outfielders who all can produce with the bat. Maybe the slight loss in offense production this year can be made up on the defense.

Considering Mike Napoli may be our weakest fielding player that's not to bad. Middlebrooks - Iglesias - Pedroia - Napoli is not bad. Bradley - Ellsbury - Victorino not bad either. A lot to hope for but pitching and defense is old time NL ball .... let's hope for the best.

The talking heads are predicting a down year for HR's across the league. No one is going to mistake this lineup for the 30+ homer lineups with Boomer, Yaz, Dewey, Rice, Lynn and Hobson, but I am optimistic they've guessed what it will take to win in 2013. As i said earlier... Whether or not they capture my interest remains to be seen.

nice start for the game, all talks about bradley jr and i can see why...

Much to like after game one. Most impressed with the bull pen....Stacked with power arms. Ellsbury just brimming with confidence. The Flyin Hawaian showing why he was paid $13 mill. Pedey rakin it. And the young speedsters.......lets give some luv to Iglesius....virtually ignored thanks to JBJ.....3 hits and the sweetest bunt I can ever remember a Saux player laying down.
The only downers were the #3 and #4 hitters with the longest swings ever.

This is an interesting team built with speed in mind. (Speed is cheap) Four burners #1, #2, #8, #9. Not your usual Sox team. Now lets hope Farrell isn't afraid to green light them. If Ellsbury can show his 2011 self, this team has a chance.

Chance of what? i dont think we are going to do somthing this year, not with these pitching. maybe if we get really really really (really) lucky.

Mutt and Lou just pointed out they saw 198 pitches yesterday. In all of 2012, they saw over 198 pitches 5 times. That gives me reason for some optimism. I am aware that it's only one game, and I know EEI has a vested interest in making them look good. Still...

This will be good old fashioned NL ball ... I hope for the best.

keep in mind last years team was so bad that anything they did this year would be a improvement. still a far cry from the team 2 years ago that was supposed to win 100 games. I remain a skeptic

damn this off day, yesterday was a tease.

headed to Coors Field for the game...cant wait to see the Sox and check out the stadium.

GO SOX!

this thread is hilarious. the redsox jammed it up are ass lmao:D

David Ortiz put on a show at batting practice. he hit at least 6 balls into the third deck and 3 of them landed 3/4th the way up. That alone was worth it. What a great stadium Coors Field is. I sat in the club level and the seats were padded and faced home plate . First class staff and they were all very polite. Cudos
