Gaither was a 5th round supplemental draft pick, he was not an UDFA.

Many scouts said if he would have made it through the year in school he would have been a top 15 pick.

He didn't, and the Ravens hit the jackpot.

Thanks for clearing that up, I knew we didn't pick him in the standard draft.

Pat's management pisses me off! How the hell do these guys seem to have 2 first round selections every year??

Sometimes the Commish takes one away from us just to make things even. That that pisses me off.

Very interesting stat there. Surprising to me is that he's not yet been voted to a pro bowl. That 2006 draft sure had it's share of big time talent, lots of pro bowlers in there.

I don't mean to make the pro bowl more than it is. Just an eyeball's estimate.

Yeah too bad the Pats bombed the draft in 2006. Imagine this team with Ngata instead of Maroney. We might have been able to deal Seymour earlier for 2 1st round picks!

Gaither is very much in the same mold as JO. The reason why Jared wasn't on peoples' draft watch was because he came out early he was put on academic probation, he came out early and was picked up as UDFA.

And Dominique Foxworth is very much in the same mold as Champ Bailey. And Ray Rice is in the same mold as Barry Sanders. We get it.

If only the Patriots were better than the Ravens at even 1 spot.....

It is what it is.

Indeed, it is. It's a steaming pile being put forth by yet another fan base as if it were a bag of the finest pearls.

blah blah blah. We've been respectful. I guess some fans are just douche bags, you fit the bill and epitomize the term.

I'll be back around 4:00p.m. on Sunday.

With a Victory for the RATS Not PATS.

do guys remember the same smack that steelers were talking in 2004? they said we were not at their level and this was BEFORE they won anything. then brady torched them in the AFCCG with a 102 degree fever.

the same applies to you baltimore crows fans. win something in this league (and i don't mean 9 years ago) and then come talk. what level are the crows even at now? you struggled against a good san diego team and bad KC team. now you come on here talking smack?

Ok first of all, you guys aren't the Rats.

Also, it must be almost game-day, the nice football talk is getting pissy! Love it!

Hey, I lurked a Ravens board for about 10 minutes today... some of our dumbest posters would be BIG HITS over there...

(also, this gives you a real good freebie...)

The game will be very competitive between 2 of the AFC's elite teams. Here's hoping to injury free ball, and an enjoyable game. Regardless of who comes out on top, there's no doubting your team has come a long way, and has a good QB for the future.

But I just have to ask--who the hell are the RATS???

So winning a SB 5 years ago entitles one to talk smack, but not 9 years ago?

I'm not one for living in the past. In the here and now, we have a GREAT team. Whether we win or lose, you will come to see that tomorrow.

As for what level we're at.... 3-0 seems to be a notch above 2-1.
And let's not talk about struggling against opponents, since it took a miracle to beat the effing BILLS and got smacked around by the hype machine known as the Jests.

haha, the Rats....

Some of our lesser mentally endowed rivals refer to us as the Ratbirds.... Rats for short.

there's a huge difference. the ravens won almost a decade ago. the pats established themselves as a dynasty and went 18-1 in 2007. they contend every year.

My guess is he's referring to the only coach to ever win the SB 3 times in 4 yrs, the team that's gone to the AFCCG 5 times in the last 8 yrs, the only 16-0 regular season ever, the only team to go 18-0 ever, the two 21+ game winning streaks, and the best team in football this decade.

Oh yeah, and the current favorites to win SB 44 (again).

IMO, the one good yr for the Ravens doesn't come close to equaling these accomplishments this decade.

Gotcha. Just wondered where it came from, thnx.

But you don't understand....

The Ravens have 5 Jonathan Ogden's on the offensive line, to go along with the 11 Hall of Famers on the defense and the greatest QB and RB tandem God ever even THOUGHT of creating.

Really, the Patriots are probably just hoping that they can keep the spread under 180 points.

He means winning in general. Don't forget you were 5-11 just 2 years ago.

Last year was step in the right direction with a new HC and QB, but this year will see if that was a flash in the pan.. too soon to start talking smack about the men who run around in black nylon stockings. Was that particular design taken from Balachine ballet?
