BOSTON GLOBE:

Patriots didn't see 'value' in using franchise tag - Ben Volin - Volin has his "On Football" column this morning, and writes that while the Patriots still may re-sign their top free agents, Julian Edelman and Aqib Talib, they apparently don't view either as must-haves after not using the franchise tag on either player.

Patriots decline to use franchise, transition tags - Zuri Berry - Berry has an entry on the fact the Patriots didn't use either designation on Monday.

This time, Pats must figure things right - Ron Borges - Borges has a column this morning on the fact the Patriots need to get it right when it comes to their two biggest free agent situations, as well as how they handle Danny Amendola's future.

Notebook: Pats eschew tags to riches - Jeff Howe - Howe files his notebook this morning, which contains some interesting information, including the fact the team has already expressed interest in retaining Talib and Edelman.

Free-agent fit: Defensive end/OLB - Mike Reiss - Reiss looks at some potential free agent fits at those positions as he continues his multipart series leading into the start of free agency.

No franchise tag for Aqib Talib - Mike Reiss - Reiss gives some additional thoughts on the fact the team didn't use the franchise tag on their top free agent cornerback.

Aqib Talib a case of buyer beware - Mike Reiss - Reiss also gives his reaction to an ESPN Insider piece by KC Joyner, who believes Talib is in the "buyer beware" department.

Free-agent fit: Tight end - Mike Reiss - Reiss has the first part in his series looking at potential free agent fits, with this one focusing on the tight end position.

Bertrand: Releasing Wilfork 'an easy decision' - 98.5's Marc Bertrand believes that the team should "rip off the band-aid" and move on from Wilfork after the defensive tackle is owed $11.6 million, the second highest amount on the team behind Tom Brady.

Felger: 'Captain Tanguay, bring us to Revis Island' - In this entry Michael Felger tells Gary Tanguay he believes Darrelle Revis coming to the Patriots is a "little bit of a pipe dream", although he'd still love to see the veteran cornerback end up in Foxboro.
