NEXTLEVEL SCOUTING, INC. "When it comes to Scouting & Evaluation... We are the Professional Grade!" By: John Murphy

*If any/all of your clients have setup private visits/workouts leading up to the draft we are creating a chart for that, as well, since it has been requested.

*If you would like to include any/all Pro Day results, updates or information, please send it to [email protected] or 504.415.9979 before 7pm eastern each day for inclusion in the next day's report.

NFL NOTES:

It has been almost 35 years since an NFL team has made it back to the Super Bowl and won the game after losing in the Super Bowl the previous year... as the Dallas Cowboys lost the 1971 Super Bowl (16-13 to Baltimore) and then returned to win the Super Bowl in 1972 by defeating Miami 24-3... the last team to lose in the Super Bowl and return to the "Big Game" period was the Buffalo Bills in 1994, as they had played the previous year against Dallas, as well... also, while New England has dominated Super Bowl appearances for the AFC (FOUR) in the past ten years (1996), the NFC has seen eight different teams reach the final game with Green Bay and St. Louis each making it twice. Since the restructuring of divisions (2002), the NFC North, AFC North and AFC South have not had a representative in the Super Bowl.

There were a total of 18 running backs who gained 1,000 or more yards last season, while there was a total of 23 wide receivers and one tight end who gained 1,000 or more yards last year.

Only eight of 32 NFL teams had winning records, 5-3 or better, on the road last season, six of those eight qualified for the playoffs, as only Jacksonville (5-3) and New Orleans (5-3) failed to reach the post-season.

Eight of the Ten teams that finished among the league's top rushing offenses in 2004 qualified for the playoffs, as only Baltimore and Kansas City failed to reach the post-season... However, in contrast, the bottom ten teams in terms of rushing offense last season, include Cleveland (#23), Chicago (#25), Tampa Bay (#29), San Francisco (#30) and Miami (#31)... all of whom are picking between picks #1 overall and #5 in the first round.

Cleveland Browns traded defensive end EBENEZER EKUBAN to the Denver Broncos for running back REUBEN DROUGHNS... it gives them more DL depth, while giving the Browns a possible starting running back, who they hope to ink to a new long-term deal... it also gives the Broncos 3/4 of the Browns former starting defensive line (Ekuban, Warren and Brown), so they must be giving DL coach Andre Patterson some imput on who he wants to coach.

The signing of Courtney Brown by the Denver Broncos should now pave the way for free agent defensive end MARQUES DOUGLAS (Baltimore) to be signed over the next few weeks with Cleveland leading the pack, but several of the teams contending for Brown's services could now look Douglas' way.

IOWA senior defensive tackle JONATHAN BABINEAUX has a private visit scheduled with Dallas... a few teams are eyeing him to make the transition to linebacker and even play some short-yardage fullback/tight end.

MISSISSIPPI senior offensive lineman DOUG BUCKLES had a private workout with the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday under the direction of offensive line coach Hudson Houck.

NEW MEXICO senior linebacker NICK SPEEGLE has private visits scheduled with Atlanta, Cincinnati, Cleveland, San Francisco and St. Louis, but is also receiving a lot of interest from any/all teams playing/shifting to more of a 3-4 base defense.

NORTHWESTERN STATE, LA senior fullback ISSA BANNA has a private workout with the NY Jets tomorrow... has also been drawing interest Dallas, Detroit and Tennessee.

OKLAHOMA senior defensive end/linebacker DAN CODY is getting added attention from Dallas, Detroit, San Diego and several other 3-4 based defensive teams.

SAGINAW VALLEY STATE senior offensive tackle TODD HERREMANS, who pulled up with a strained left hamstring at his Pro Day (March 18th), may have as many private workouts/visits lined up as any player in the draft... there are a number of teams that are sending out their position coach to work him out, and check out his footwork and movement skills... the attention he is getting could very well push up his final grade to the early second day, as some had earlier mentioned to us that he was more of a 5-7th rounder... but that does not seem to be the case today.

SAN DIEGO STATE junior linebacker MATT MCCOY has had a total of five private workouts to date with Carolina, Chicago, Green Bay, Philadelphia and St. Louis... but will also be visiting a total of 14 teams, including Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Cincinnati, Houston, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Miami, NY Jets, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, San Diego, San Francisco and Seattle.

SAN DIEGO STATE senior safety MARVIEL UNDERWOOD has a private visit scheduled with Philadelphia.
