We’re at Gillette

After a surprisingly smooth ride from Boston, we’re here at Gillette Stadium reday to blog our way through this afternoon’s Patriots-Jets contest from seat No. 311 in the press box. Let’s set the scene…

In the press box, there are plenty of national folks in attendance, including reporters from ESPN, ESPN The Magazine, CBS Sportsline, the L.A. Times, USA Today, Yahoo Sports and the NFL Network. In addition, there’s the usual New York media horde in attendance.

On the field, the grounds crew is just now plowing the snow off the tarp — once they plow off a section of the tarp, they remove it from the field. (Expect plenty of big snowbanks against the sides of the field near the stands.) And in the stands, workers are doing their best to clear out the excess snow. We’ll see how successful they are as the game draws closer. A handful of players are doing wind sprints on the section of the field that’s been cleared. The scoreboard had a video of a warm and toasty looking fireplace. And we’re preparing for our weekly radio appearance on ESPN 890 — we’ll be on from noon until almost kickoff. We’ll be back with more pregame notes as the game draws closer.
