Patriots quarterback Tom Brady had a bit of bad luck on Thursday night, and as a result he didn’t get to see the field against the Bears in New England’s final home preseason game of 2016.
According to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, Brady reportedly accidentally sliced his thumb on a pair of scissors, which kept him out of action against Chicago.
Brady’s agent, Don Yee, told Rapoport that the quarterback should be fine.
“An accident occurred and Tom will be OK in time,” Yee told Rapoport.
It’s a disappointing injury for Brady, who will now not get a chance to play in front of the home crowd at Gillette Stadium again until October 16th, which will be a 1:00pm match-up against the Cincinnati Bengals.
His first scheduled game back will be on October 9th for their Week 5 battle with the Browns out in Cleveland.
