If this has already been done, maybe we can merge it. Anyway, we'll make it sort of a contest. Everyone predicts the final standings for every division and then at the end of the season, you get a point for every team you have in the correct place in the standings. I'll do mine first.

If at all possible, could we get one of the mods to lock this tonight at kickoff so we don't have people cluttering the thread up after the season has officially started?

Had to make a quick change on my predictions. I plead temporary insanity by picking the Packers to finish second. I also wanted to bump this up for everyone else to see. Get your predictions in and then if we could get someone to lock it up just before kickoff I'd appreciate it. :rocker:

yeah, we should be able to post everyones picks somewhere

AFC East
Pats 13-3 (super bowl champ)
Fins 12-4 (thanks to creampuff schedule)
Jets 6-10 (better than people think)
Bills 3-13 (much, much worse than people think)

AFC North
Bengals 12-4 (as talented as any NFL team, if they don't implode)
Steelers 10-6 (lose tiebreaker with SD and miss playoffs)
Ravens 8-8 (no oline = no playoffs)
Browns 7-9 (a very respectable 7-9)

AFC South
Colts 10-6 (life will be very different without Edge)
Jags 9-7 ('05 record reflects schedule, not a playoff team)
Titans 6-10 (on the rise)
Texans 4-12 (better than '05, but they still suck)

AFC West
Broncos 11-5 (release of Trevor Price will prove a big loss)
Chargers 10-6 (win conference record tiebreaker)
Chiefs 8-8 (forget LJ, rest of team is on decline)
Raiders 2-14 (quite possibly the worst in the NFL)

NFC East
Eagles 12-4 (deepest lines in the NFC, pass game will be revitalized)
Giants 10-6 (best pass rush in NFL, strong run game, Eli will get better)
Cowboys 10-6 (boys ride defense, not T.O. to wild card)
Skins 7-9 (pass game declines sharply)

NFC North
Bears 9-7 (just enough D to stay on top)
Lions 7-9 (will be fun to watch)
Vikings 7-9 (talented, but need time to develop as a unit)
Packers 4-12 (will Favre break the INT record?)

NFC South
Panthers 11-5 (a complete team that still plays inconsistent)
Bucs 9-7 (aging defense starts to crack despite offensive emergence)
Falcons 8-8 (a typical year for Atlanta)
Saints 4-12 (but the most fun 4-12 team in years)

NFC West
Seahawks 12-4 (forget recent history, may be league's best on paper)
Rams 9-7 (a sleeper that just misses a playoff berth)
Cards 7-9 (who's gonna block for Edge?)
Niners 5-11 (the toughest gaurenteed win in NFC)

Just remembered you wanted this shut down. Locked.

Well, here's the results. All I did is gave the person one point for each team he had in the right postion. They get two points for predicting the division winner correctly.

bakes781 - 21
stinkypete - 17
Ceresco - 14 (t)
Jacky Roberts - 14 (t)
Alk - 13
richpats - 12
patsfan55 - 11
Pattie - 7

Congrats to bakes781, pretty darn impressive.

wow, alk, good job on hangin onto this
i forgot i had the giants and eagles in it
and i had the giants over the eagles in the wildcard round

i also had a sb of pats over seattle
which now could happen
i see seattle beatin chicago if the eagles win
i of course hope seattle does not make the sb,
cuz the pick would then suck
